To get admission to the L.D College of Engineering is through ACPC. Admission criteria are 50% of GUJCET percentile + 50% of GUJARAT board percentile. LDCE is the Oldest public government college in Gujarat so its merits are high compared to other government colleges. from the 2017 year admission based on GUJCET + BOARD marks. JEE marks are not considered for the admission process. If you have above 80% in the Gujarat board exam there are very good chances to get into LDCE.

The course duration is 4 years. All the faculty are minimum master's qualification and have a strong education background. Faculty members are in our college are very intelligent. Total 8 semesters are in this course so every semester has 1 final university exam and 1 midterm exam. The midterm exam is taken by the college itself. Exams are taken by the college are hard sometimes, but the final university exam is based on the previous year's examination papers so it is very easy to clear. Faculties are very helpful to the students. If students have any doubts then they directly approach to faculty without any hesitation. Every year in this course approximately 120 students of degree and 30 students who completed their diploma take admission, so there are 150 students in total in one branch. The course curriculum is not too difficult but you have to focus on the previous year's papers.

College fees are 1500 rs per year but after including stationary charges, library charges, exam fees it is nearby 2500 rs per year, so basically, it is affordable to all kinds of students and for female students, there are no any fees such as 1500 rs per year it is completely free. you can apply for scholarships like MYSY, Digital Gujarat, the National scholarship scheme, etc. If you are a hostler student then you will receive an extra scholarship for hostel and food bill. Jobs offered in our college are highest compared to any other college in GUJARAT. approx every year 650 students are placed in a campus job.

In our college, there are many clubs which host many events during the year. The college has organized a Tech fest which is lakshya, it is organized by the ROBOCON CLUB LDCE. Many students are taking part in many events and some workshops are organized by experts. There are lots of books, magazines, different languages, newspapers, etc. In the college library, if you are free then you should visit the library at least one time. There are many clubs in our college namely Innovater club, robocon club, Sahitya Sarita, prakalpa club, coders club, vox populi club, NCC, Rotract club, etc.
