Remarks

KoJadavpur university takes admission through wbjee examination. After 1st round of counseling, I was allotted a seat in mechanical engineering in Jadavpur University. I was hoping for electrical engineering but there was tough competition in 2021. After 1st round result, the college immediately made a notice to verify all the documents and further process. This was really disgusting. Students had to come anyway in university during this tough time of the lockdown

Course Curriculum Overview

There is a Semester of 6 months generally and you cannot score well if you have not studied properly. If you are one of the students who bunks then this university is not for you. On this lockdown, days exam is being conducted in totally online mode. So for now it is a little easy to pass.

Till now as I have heard, almost all the students get placed from here if they have worked hard honestly with an average package of 8-9 LPA I am studying here just to get a decent job to support my family

There are many opportunities for scholarship, financial assistance, freeship etc. I had applied for the swami vivekananda scholarship and the university also gave a freeship to me because we were struggling with financial conditions. the course is also very low. You can even complete your course in just 10k inr

Campus Life

FETSU is a group run by students if jadavpur university. Many other social and sporting clubs are run by students such as chess club, football club, cricket club, and many more. Jadavpur university provides all the supporting ways to enhance your talent.

Hostel Facilities

The rooms of the hostel are not luxurious but not also like an old building. Students can adjust easily though you may face some problems these are bearable. Students who reside far from jadavpur university can only apply for a hostel else you have to take pg.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
