Remarks
I applied for some colleges of DU but chose to go for DDUC as it was one the best colleges for science. I took admission after 2nd cutoff was released. It was 95% (aggregate of Physics, chemistry and mathematics in 12th boards). It was 1% relaxed for female students. The cut off was also relaxed for students involved in ECA and sports etc. There was no age requirements as in to get admission. For admission, online applications are available in DU site. After filling the application form, they invite you the college and then it gets done in one day. Time table, faculty, attendance, internal marks etc. can be checked at dduc site.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose physics because I liked it in 12th standard. The time table is not as hectic for 1st year students as it is for 2nd and 3rd year students. The faculty and student ratio is quite high as compared to the other colleges in India. The faculty is qualified and most of them teach well and some don't. The exams and internals were always on time. The professors completed their course. It was easy to pass the exams but it wasn't easy to score high marks.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure on an average was 18k per year for us. With this money they organise annual fests, departmental fests; provide funding to the societies in college; provided us instruments in labs etc. I didn't get any scholarship, final assistance or job with stipend. I think it is quite unlikely to get a job or placement in this course from DDUC or from any other college of DU.
Campus Life
Different kind of annual fest is held at DDUC. They are conducted around March-April i.e at the end of the academic year. A lot of books, newspapers, magazines are available. Shortage of course books can be felt sometime. DDUC doesn't have its own playground so in order to play sports you need to visit other colleges. You can take part in sports and different college societies for dance, singing, debate, poetry etc.
