IIT Madras was the best, is the best and probably it will remain to be the best institute of the country because of its all-round perfection. It has been getting 1st position in NIRF's rankings from the last few years consecutively. The institute is given recognitions from leading global agencies and along with which its worldwide industrial and institutional tie-ups are a great reason to be there. I applied for my Master's here at IIT-M and admissions to the course were based on the scores in IIT JAM entrance.
Course Curriculum Overview
Anyone's who's familiar with Science or technical education would know about Applied Mechanics which is an term related to Physics. The interest towards physics made me opt for this specialisation for my M.Sc programme. The faculty at IIT Madras doesn't need any kind of quality introduction because they come from the best of institutions, along with which their research, educational and professional experience add great value to the learning they offer among students
Internships Opportunities
Internships are a very Important aspect of any programme but only if opportunities are good for knowledge or professional skills growth. The job roles in our batch's internships round were good in terms of Stipends & one's growth also.
Placement Experience
Our institute; IIT Madras is best in the country and that's why leading companies recruited students for different job profiles. The highest package was over INR 85 Lacs and top recruiters present for the placement drive were Microsoft, ITC, HCL technologies, Amazon, Tata group and Flipkart. The Engineering courses of our college were in highest demand because they are the flagship programmes of IIT Madras.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Paying just INR 23,070 for M.Sc at IIT Madras is probably the best thing about this programme, because we get to study at the best Indian Institute and if we don't have to face any financial pressure for that, I think there could be nothing better. So it is important than one works hard to score well in the entrance and pursue his/her Master's from such prestigious institutes.
Campus Life
Campus activities at IIT Madras for our M.Sc programme particularly included various lab activities and projects so that we can get to learn practically about our things related to the field.The most popular events of our college were Shaastra, Exebit, Cultural fest and the alumni meet event also. For me the library services were a great positive because it had some very rare content options in it. All activities and fests of IIT Madras were conducted by supervision of particular club's and societies.
Hostel Facilities
I wanted to make sure that I don't miss any opportunity to grow myself throughout my M.Sc at IIT Madras and that's the reason why I applied to live in the hostels. Most of my expectations from the hostels were fulfilled while the company I got from my friends helped me to make my hostel life a even better one.The mess services at IIT-M were great for me because the taste of food was good and it also had good variety in options. Some entertainment activities were also available there.
Admission
Having a bachelor's degree in the valid field is important to apply for M.Sc admissions at IIT Madras and that to matching the requirements of marks. The selection process includes checking of candidates score in IIT JAM exam. The seat allocation is done accordingly to the choice filling, category & seats availabilty during the counselling procedure.
