Survive in college but thrive in life ( since college life might be headache )

Good - good ranking so many companies will come during placement , very big area of NIT Rourkela and very green , swimming pool and can learn swimming freely , free gyms Bad - some professors don't teach properly but you can manage on youtube , food looks good but doesn't have taste.Admission process - after JEE mains marks release go to josaa website and fill the institution names that you would like to join in along with branch . After few days results will be declared , you will know your college name . Then go to nearest iit or nit or a few other colleges whose name will be provided on josaa and give all asked documents . I chose because placements are more in EE , CSE and ECE branches . For qualification as faculty one exam and interview are conducted and then they are selected as faculty . Teaching method used were board , ppt presentations , online classes during pandemic .Mid term and end term exams were conducted at a gap of two months , exams of electrical branch were very tuff , many students got low cgpa after getting into the branch courses

I did internship at Delhi metro . Then I got internship at BHEL but it was cancelled due to pandemic . In both I was placed at E&M dept ( electrical and mechanical ) and I used to see how things are repaired if some problem occurs.My project was DC microgrid powered by solar panels and wind mills . These are renewable energies but production is less so these can power small townships.

From 7th sem placements start . You can also get internship after 5th sem and then get ppo in the same company .Many companies came like microsoft , amazon , GAIL , Bajaj , Aditya Birla , Oppo , ACT , Wipro , tcs , infosys , etc many many more .Highest package is of Microsoft around 42 LPA , and average package for electrical can be considered 8-10 LPA

Fees were around 96k for general student . It had tuition fees , hostel fees , SAC fees for fests , Library fees , etc .Many scholarships are released on telegram channel of nit Rourkela and also for low income people tuition fees is almost zero.I got recruited at GAIL which is a PSU . My ctc is around 17 LPA

Innovation is technical fest of nitr and nitrutsav is the cultural fest of nitr . Innovision in august and Nitrutsav in February.Many books and journals are available in library and you can also check availability on online site of library and you can also take those books home .Many sports teams are there like cricket football badminton table tennis , etc and even if you are not in team you can play in respective hostels .Clubs like SAE for car building , cyborg for making bots , Tiburon for small submarine , clarion for debates , a few for coding and many many more clubs .

Fan , light , table , chair , bed will be provided in room . First year room is a little small but from second year you can live happily . Food menu has all good things for four times a day ( snacks in evening ) but taste is not that good , but survivable . Tea or milk in evening and morning . Bananas or watermelon in evening . Neembu paani in evening in summer times . registration they only did , gave room number and hostel . Just go there , very simple ( will need to wait in auditorium for a long time though , but you can sit there comfortably )

Just written test that is JEE mains and nothing else For admission . In job selection there were GD's though with topics like breast cancer , yin yang , made in India movement , etc
