Remarks

I was planning to go to Durgapur for graduation. I searched for colleges and came to know about NSHM Knowledge Campus Durgapur and I decided to pursue btech from there as I heard very positive things about the college from seniors. So I decided and took admission there.

Course Curriculum Overview

As I was interested in Computer Science Engineering so I opted for this particular field. Exams were pretty good and I managed to pass very easily because I was aware of the syllabus and course. So overall the course is also worth doing.

Class Size: 67Course Fees: INR 90000 per year

Placement Experience

There were many companies visiting our college for placements and also with the handsome package. Some of them were TCS, Wipro,Extramarks and many more with a range of 4 to 8Lakhs package. But I planned for higher studies so I didn't take placements from college.

Fees and Financial Aid

My course fee was 365000 when I graduated.45000 per semester and 9000 per year. Gradually it increases in each year. I was given many opportunities from college and I was made to sit in various companies but I decided to go for further studies.

Campus Life

As I didn't opt for the campus of the college, I was staying in pg nearby college. Also college library contained lots of books. And sports game was also conducted for us every year. In class, there were many amenities like a fan, projector, desks, benches, chairs etc

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

A Nurturing Place to Learn and Thrive

I decided to take up Clinical Psychology over Applied Psychology for my Master's. I searched for colleges and Universities near my home town Durgapur. Most of the colleges offer an M.A. or M.Sc. in Applied Psychology. NSHM Durgapur and Kolkata offer M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology.
