Remarks
Dyal Singh has the same admission process as any other college in Delhi University. In May or July, the application form has to be filled by the students who wish to study at Delhi University. In the following month's DU releases cutoff for different courses in different colleges which if met by a student, he/she can take admission in the college. Dyal Singh has a quota for OBC, SC, ST etc. Any kind of admission through management quota is not possible as it is highly against the rules and ethics of Delhi University. The process was the same for me. I met the first cutoff for Dyal Singh college which was 97 for the BSc Hons mathematics. I applied to the college through the official du website and got admission to the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Maths has been my favourite subject since my childhood. Therefore I took the subject for my BSc Hons degree. But the maths that is taught in BSc is completely different from that taught in 11th and 12th. I came to realise this only at my graduation. However, believe me, you will ace the subject if you love it. There are a total of 70-75 children in each class. It may vary depending on the students admitted each year. The faculty of Dyal Singh is awesome. Dyal Singh is ranked as a top college in DU for BSc Hons mathematics. Even though most of the syllabus in BSc maths Hons is theoretical but the method of teaching of each professor is wonderful. You need not worry about academics in any DU college. We have semester end exams and yearly exams. Scoring more than 8 cgpa is normal in BSc maths hons if you make sure that you start your preparation 3 months before the exam. Internships Opportunities
Many internship opportunities are provided by the college. However, it depends if you grab that opportunity or not. Most of the internships are provided by startups and they might offer stipends up to 5000 rs per month. You can contact them through the FB page.
Fees and Financial Aid
DU colleges are mostly affordable. The fees of BSc maths Hons in Dyal Singh is just around 16k per year which amounts to just 48k for the entire course. You also need to take care of your transportation cost or rent. Rent of housing pg's is mostly around 15k per month. It may vary depending on the location and room type. Dyal Singh offers so many internship opportunities. You might not get a stipend during your first internship but for the next internships, you might get somewhere around 5k to 10k per month. Campus Life
Priyadarshini is the annual fest of Dyal Singh and it is celebrated enthusiastically in the entire college. It is organised by the art and cultural society of the college. It is held over 3 days and involves many events. The library of Dyal Singh is one of the best in the south campus area. It is well ventilated. Many valuable books are available in the library. The classrooms are big and spacious and also well ventilated. Sports are one of the best things about Dyal Singh. We have a big field for all types of sports. The college has many societies like music, dance, photography, drama, arts and musical etc. If you want to experience the college campus then I highly recommend you to participate in these societies.
