Remarks
Admission criteria are based on the cutoff released by the college. The admission process was smooth, documents had to be submitted and a form had to be filled. I did not avail any quota. The minimum percentage for Maths is around 94%. I had scored 95% and got admission in the third cutoff.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good but very theoretical. It is a lot of proof based and a lot different from what you would expect as compared to class 12 maths. Faculty to student ratio is fine. The batch size is 60 approx. We had two sections for maths and both had around 60 students. The faculty is really nice and invests time in you. The teaching methods are good and if you attend classes a lot of the syllabus can be covered in the class itself. Exams were according to DU timelines only, it was not very difficult. Some subjects are of course a tad bit difficult than others but the difficulty level of exams was medium at best.
Internships Opportunities
Lots of internship opportunities get rolled out throughout the year. However, most are for marketing or sales. It's difficult to get a good profile while interning. Also, apart from sales internships, not many offer stipends. Usually, you need to clear a GD and PI to get an internship, it's not very difficult however getting into a good internship can be hard since there is a lot of competition.
Placement Experience
5th sem students become eligible for placements. Major companies like Accenture, BCG, DE Shaw visit and offers made is fairly good however the number of quality companies has been dropping exponentially over past years. Most of the students who want to go for a job get placed. I got a campus placement too and the package is good. Profiles offered range from Actuarial Analyst to Content Writer to Sales and Associate Consultant, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
It is a bit higher than some south campus colleges, however lesser than North campus colleges. I did not receive any scholarship however there is an INSPIRE program by the government which we were told about, you should have science in +2 to apply for that. I got a summer internship through the placement cell with a 5k stipend so you can earn by doing internships also.
Campus Life
The annual fest is called NEXUS. It's a really fun three days event with lots of competitions and events happening. The library is fairly vast and has a good collection of books. The club's of Venky are nice especially the cultural societies. Other than that we have NSS, Enactus, WDC etc which are social service clubs you can join. There are lots of opportunities to do stuff other than studies.
