COMEDK, score- 115. This college was the best I could have gotten considering my rank which was 3499. I had to choose between IS in BIT, CS in in DSCE and PESIT SOUTH.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college is affliated to Vtu, Belgavi. Vtu syllabus is slightly outdated and in order to be at par you need to take up a few online courses here and there. Although the college has an excellent research infrastructure and the teachers and always available to help out.
Internships Opportunities
No, the college does not provide any internship as such. Although few technical events are held where the resume of the participants are invited and based on that they are offered internships in various companies. This is my first year here and therefore I don't know much about the internship and stipend.
College Events
“Maaya” is the annual cultural, sports and technical festival held in October. Students actively participate in it and have a gala time during the fest as all the restrictions are taken off. Intra-college competitions Activity Day organized during even semesters. So even semester is usually colder compared to odd due to lack of activities. There are many technical events that takes place as well.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The annual college fee is 1.7 lakh which is almost equal to all the other colleges in Bangalore. I think the students are slightly overcharged as there isn't as many cultural and technical events taking place. The required amount of exposure is also not provided and it feels like we are still in school.
Fees and Financial Aid
The banks easily provide the student loans and it's very easily accessible. I don't know much about the scholarship programmes.
Campus Life
PES School of Engineering (PESSE) is the old name of the college and as the name suggests, is the “school” of engineering. Literally.
Hostel Facilities
There are two hostels one in the college campus itself and other one is about 5kms from the college. The campus hostel is meant for boys of 2nd-4th year. The other hostel is for 1st year boys and all the girls. The facilities are same at both the hostels and they are pretty nice but the rules at the off-campus hostel are ridiculous and the warden there is really grumpy.
Alumni/Alumna
The college has a really good alumni network and they are often invited to the college for seminars and even for the technical events. The seniors students are really helpful and friendly and hardly any ragging happens here.
Exam Structure
There are three internals that take place each month and leave you drained. The marks of two out of three internals is sent to the university. The university exams are even more stressful as they keep on postponing the dates for literally anything and because of which most students have to cancel and reschedule their flight tickets. It really cuts a big hole in their pockets.
