Remarks
The management is fairly supportive and provides permission for a number of inter college events. However they do not provide attendance if you are going to a fest not organised by DSI. Very supportive for innovative products and gives you chance to start your own company.
Entrance Preview
I took admission in this college through CET Exam. The admission process was very smooth and were guided at every point. We had to go to the Hall of Admissions, fill up the form and pay the CET fees. The Infrastructure fee is comparatively high but it makes up for the state of the art infrastructure and neat classrooms they provide.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is structured in a proper manner, however it would be better if relevant industry languages are thought in class. However, as the course curriculum is designed by VTU, they do not have much say, but they do provide a variety of courses and workshops to be up to date with the technology.
Internships Opportunities
No, they do not provide internship, but they are open to it provided the student gets an internship from the company he/she is placed.
Placement Experience
Placements and job oppurtunities are the best in DSCE. Infact it is one of the best. They allow you to hold an offer in each bracket slab(3-5L/5L-10L/10L+) and can sit in any number of placements. Also it provides 100% placement. A number of startups and good companies such as BMS, JP Morgan, Dell, HP, Directi, Pega Systems, Oracle participate in the Campus Drive.
College Events
We Have the annual fest Furore- common to all the departments which is an Inter College fest. There are variety of Technical and Non-technical events but the Fashion show and concert are the star attractions. Every Year we have atleast one film actor visiting our college to promote their movie. All of the departments also hold their individual fest having events respective to their fields.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for management quota is around Rs 2.25L every year. For Comedk, it is around Rs 2L and for Cet it is Rs 36000+ 30,000 as the infrastructure fees. The tuition fees for SNQ quota students is 0, but they have to pay infrastructure fees of Rs 30,000.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college does not provide any scholarship facility where as the government of Karnataka provides scholarship to engineering graduates. The college attests all the required documents to apply for the scholarship.
Campus Life
The students of this college are mostly from the north, with a qual ratio of boys and girls. There are number of student clubs such as Drama club, events club, entreprenuership club and many more. DSCE provides a good balance between studies and extra-curricular activities.
Hostel Facilities
There are too hostels for boys-NRI Hostel and Indian hostel. NRI hostel charges an annual fee of Rs 1.20L including food and room is double sharing. Indian hostel charges Rs 1l annual fee and the rooms are triple sharing. However there are number of good eateries outside college, so food is not an issue here. There is only one hostel for women inside the college. The deadline for girls is 8pm and for boys it is 10pm.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni of this college have reached greater Heights. One of the most prominent alumni is Mr Raj Sundereshan who is the Vice-President of Visa. The Seniors are very supportive. We have a buddy system, where the seniors will have to go interact with the juniors and get to know them better and make them feel comfortable.
Exam Structure
We have 3 theory Internals, one in every month. There two exams on each day with a gap of 3 hours in between the exams. Also, there are 2 practical internals. Following these are one Lab External exam and External Theory Exams which are spread over a month with 4-5 days inbetween each exam.
Faculty
The faculty are very helpful and guide us in a proper manner. They provide only the amount of knowledge that is required to proceed and they encourage us to work and develop thoughts about the subject on our own. They give you freedom to think and innovate and are always open to clear our doubts.
