Deep insights of MNIT Jaipur.

One can get admission in MNIT Jaipur by clearing JEE Mains with a decent rank. I didn't apply for any other college as I wanted to pursue my engineering from IITs/NITs only. Since I belong to Rajasthan so, I got MNIT from HOME STATE quota in JOSSA counselling. I am from the Electronics & Communication Department of MNIT. One should get at least 75% marks in their respective board and get a minimum percentile of 99.2 in JEE MAINS (for general). We cannot indicate marks as JEE MAINS is conducted in multiple shifts. This year too admission process was completely online as per government protocols. JOSSA conducts JEE counselling which is held in multiple rounds and at last, a CSAB round is also conducted so as to fill the vacant seats of the NIT+ system. This procedure usually takes a month or more to be completed.

Since I am from the ECE department so, I can tell you better about my branch. I chose this because I have seen many positive reviews about this department and it is not so difficult to go into the IT sector. Overall, placements are excellent from MNIT. The average salary offered is 13.61 LPA and 88.75% got placed. There are 26 professors and our batch strength is 117. All the faculty members are highly educated, most of them have done their M-Tech and PHD from IITs and NITs There are some professors who are friendly and motivate you some are a little bit serious. But that varies from professor to professor. There will be 2 end semester exams and 2 mid semester exams and they are easier as compared to clearing JEE. The only thing you have to ensure is that you should regularly revise your faculty notes and maintain 8 CGPA or more which is not that difficult.

Some companies which are providing internship opportunities for students are Deshaw(1.5 lakh per month), Apple(INR 90k per month), Morgan Stanley(87k per month), Goldman Sachs(75k per month), Amazon(60k per month), Deutsche Bank(75k per month). Salesforce(90k per month), JMPC(50k per month) and many more.

Most of the students are placed in the third year itself. Some start doing internships from the second year. All the tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Intel recruit students from this college. Some students have even applied for off campus in Apple and they were placed at INR 62 LPA. The total number of offers were 381 and out of those 365 students got placed. The highest package offered (on campus) 43 LPA, The highest package offered (off campus) 62 LPA, Average package 10.34 LPA. Average packages department wise CSE: 15.38 LPA , ECE: 13.61 LPA, Electrical: 7.74 LPA, Mechanical: 8.31 LPA, Chemical: 6.78 LPA, Metallurgy: 7.08 LPA, Civil: 7.07 LPA, Architecture: 5.36 LPA. The total placement percentage is 70.43%. I want to be placed in the IT sector so I am working for it.

Here in MNIT, our fee structure is as follows: 1) Tuition fee INR 62,500 (per semester) for General/EWS/OBC candidates and full waiver in tuition fee for ST, SC students. 2)Mess fee is INR 20,000 (per semester) for all candidates. 3)Hostel fee is INR 12,000 (per semester) for all candidates. 4)Institute fee is INR 15300(per semester) for all candidates which includes development, library, internet, sports, students welfare, examination, laboratory and other charges. Yes, there are many scholarships for underprivileged students which can be accessed through the MNIT scholarship portal. I am not eligible for an internship now since I am a first year student.

We at MNIT are proud to say that our cultural fest "BLITZSCHLAG" in Rajasthan's biggest cultural fest. It is usually conducted in February. Yeah it has got a centrally air conditioned library which has a rich collection of 1,33,600 books, periodicals and journals VLTC our lecture hall which is the largest in ASIA is a centre of attraction of MNIT. It is a modern architecture with classrooms with all the facilities that an engineering college should have. Coming to sports, you can expect all the sports here except a swimming pool. Every year annual athletic meet, MNIT sports tournaments, inter branch tournaments and NIT tournaments are held. There are various clubs and sports groups which are run by MNITians like film and photography club, music and dance society, mavericks, mnit DMS, forumsmnit, edcmnitj, sphinxmnit, blitzmnit, alcom.mnit etc.

There are 10 boys hostels and 3 girls hostel in MNIT which holds the capacity of 2413 and 606 students. In the first year, we are allotted triple seater rooms but in the consecutive year, we are provided with single seater rooms. Hostel rooms are average with NON AC rooms but you will not need an AC because of the greenery in MNIT Coming to the food We are given 4 meals a day which includes food items that are not repeated at all. If you are fond of non veg then you have to compromise. The only egg is provided to students. the overall quality of food is above average and you will like it. The menu is fixed for all the weekdays. Food in MNIT will cost only Rs. 110 per day Our college is located in the posh area of Jaipur, first of all, Taking hostel is compulsory in MNIT even if you hail from Jaipur itself.
