NSUT - The tech king

The admission for NSUT takes place through JAC counselling. The colleges of Delhi govt. like DTU, NSUT, IIITD makes admissions through this counselling. I also applied for several NITs through JOSSA. I got admission to NIT Kurukshetra but in NSIT I got a better branch so I left my seat at NIT. JAC counselling provides 85% reservations for Delhi students and 15% reservations for outside Delhi students. I was from outside Delhi so the cutoffs were very high. I got Electrical Engineering at NSUT after giving jee mains with the general category. For Delhi students, the cut off would be less. I did not get any seat in the Jac counselling initially but I got this seat through the spot round. Spot rounds are too Unpredictable. I had options of Electrical Engineering at NSUT, mechanical engineering or civil engineering at DTU. NSUT was nearer to my house so I chose this. The counselling fees is about 1000 rs in jac after paying which you will be allowed to choose from the above mentioned colleges

I chose Electrical Engineering because it was the only option available for me at NSUT. In my batch there are 2 sections for Electrical Engineering, that is, 240 students and there are around 15-20 professors for this branch. All the professors have done their masters and some of them have even done PhD. The teaching method is very good and understandable. For every semester we have midterms and end term exams. Other than these we also have regular class tests and assignments. The difficulty of these exams also ranges between moderate and tough.

Many companies visit the college for internship opportunities. Roles offered are software developer, other technical posts. For core we have around 5-6 companies visiting. The companies prefer students who have worked on projects for internships

Placements are available after the 6th semester. Many famous companies like amazon, google, Microsoft, etc visit our campus for placements. Till recently nsit boasted of having 100% Placements records. The average package for tech jobs is as high as 1200000.

Nsut is a costly college. The fees for my batch is around 200000 for each year which makes it 800000 for 4 years. The fees for hostel and mess is separate which I've heard are also very costly. The fees are increased for every upcoming batch. All govt. Scholarships are valid in the college along with the college run scholarship called CVSPK. Campus placements are very good for technical jobs. Core and non tech jobs are less.

We have 2 fests, one tech fest called innovision and the other cultural fest called moksha. Moksha is famous all around Delhi. Innovision is conducted in November whereas moksha is conducted in March. The library is full of books and is a beautiful place to study. We have all the sports facilities like Badminton court, basketball court, football ground, cricket ground, volleyball courts etc. There are many societies like NSS, Capella cansat etc
