Entrance Preview

I gave CLAT 2014 and scored 119.5 marks and then I got this college. I opted for Law because I want to raje Law as an optional subject in competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course Structure is quite balanced. It covers almost all the necessary subjects in very appropriate way. Semester division makes it even smoother. Five years split in Ten semester result in Fifty subjects, which cover all the subjects. So, as per me, the curriculum of my university is not faulty.

Internships Opportunities

No, my college does not provide internships but it does provide platform where you can apply for internships in reputed universities or institutes.

Placement Experience

3

Placements and job opportunities are not very optimum but undoubtedly growing. In this regard my university is performing better every year. Every time some new and better companies, law firms etc are coming and placing our students. And apart from these other job opportunities in form of competition is always available.

College Events

3

In this field too, my institute does not do so well. Not many events are celebrated. Apart from some cultural fests and some Festival celebration such as Holi, Diwali, Saraswati Pooja, etc, not many events are held. Some workshops are held though. Plus my university organizes two big Moot Court and Parliamentary Debate events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is not very feasible for a normal middle class family. Because it costs almost two and a half lakhs rupees per annum roughly which is not a very feasible amount for most of the families in India. Adding to this, my university is a government institute which is expected to be cheap. But it does not do so. Fee Structure is quite bombastic.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, not much is done on this field. Though some reserved categories do get relaxation in their fee. For availing this facility they ought to furnish their caste certificate and then on filing one simple application their fees is refunded.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities in general are not bad. Hostel is equipped with WiFi and twenty four hour electricity supply. In months of winter p, heyser facility is also available. Single seater and double seater rooms are available and they are alloted basing on merit of the students. Mess is not very satisfactory but then maybe this is the story of everywhere.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is still under construction. Basically my university is comparatively a new one which does not have a very strong alumni base. It is in making and I hope that one day it would have one of the best alumni networks.

Exam Structure

Yes, here I would complain a bit. Exam structure is not up to the mark. It leaves us with a very hectic schedule. In a semester, almost 4 working months are there.and out of these 4, every month there is one or another exam. Be it surprise test or mid semester exams or project presentations or end semester exams.

Admission

Common Law Admission Test is the way to get admission in this institute. This is an all India based entrance test where you need to score a minimum to get in. It depends upon merit. I scored 119.5 which was sufficient to get me in. Generally, till 1500 rank is okay for this institute.

Faculty

3

Faculty is well educated, generally. Except for rare faculties which is the story of all the institutes in India. So, I would rate faculty of my institute better than moderate. So, as per me, the faculty of my university is not a glitch especially when the student is willing to give some effort and tries to bring out the best of the faculty.

Placement Experience:

CNLU is generally known for Judiciary. The majority of students are preparing for the Judiciary exam. Placement at this college is quite low compared to other colleges. This is because in placement very few students sit and appear for the placements. The majority of the students opt for higher studies like LLM or other PG courses or start preparing for Judiciary or Civil service exams. The main disadvantage of low placement is the geographical location of this college. It is situated in Patna where there is no company resides. All the major companies are in Delhi, Mumbai, or other big cities. Patna is underdeveloped which is why most of the big companies don't come to recruit the students. Students are eligible for placement from the eighth semester only. After completing his/her graduation they can join the company. Major companies visited for placement are banks and second-tier law firms. Approx 25% of students get placed during the year. I am planning to prepare for the judiciary.
