Remarks

Science Group (Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)) in 12th standard is mandatory for taking food technology as a subject for graduation. If you've studied PCMB which includes mathematics, you'll get a relaxation of 3% marks. For application, Firstly you need to apply for graduation in Delhi University through the official website of the University of Delhi. There you can give options of colleges and courses as per your preferences. After some time, University will release cut offs for respective colleges and courses. If you secured the required marks, then take the printout of your application and go directly to the college on the said date only with original documents (Includes Marksheet, Certificates and Application). I've selected it under the OBC category. Because I provided a clear Non creamy layer certificate (central government issued). There is nothing you'll get through this reservation. But if you come under any category of reservation, you have to submit the proof. Overall it is smooth

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

When I was in 12th, I had a teacher who was a food technologist before he wore the role of a teacher. Hearing his experiences had pulled me more to this field and I want to study in the most prestigious university. That's why I choose Delhi university as I hail from the Kollam district in Kerala. Only 50 students were there for our course. For practicals, Overall strength is divided into two groups. The faculty is very impressive as they are always available for students. They'll upgrade students and make them perfect for the food industry. Teachers are highly qualified as all of them had a doctorate degree in the respective subjects and they're very experienced. They always guide us for new product development and innovative thinking. Theoretical sessions are normal classes and they refer to some of the good books. You can get those books from the library. You'll have internals two times in a sem. Also, they conduct final exams at the end of each sem without any delay (even at covid times)

Internships Opportunities

3

Some of the major companies like PepsiCo have come up with some interesting projects like SNF (Safe and Nutritious food) for school children in collaboration with FSSAI. When it comes to internships, you have to find them on your own. You have to directly reach out or mail the companies HR to know more about internships. After you get selected, you have to submit a letter from the college with the name of the company and the duration of the internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study is very low. You have to pay 12000 in the first year as a college fee. Then 7500 in the second and third years. You'll get a refund of 5000 after successful completion of the course as you paid 7000+5000(security deposit) in the first year. I got a scholarship worth 25K in the first year from the CII-SKA foundation. Eligibility of this scholarship is good academic record and Low income of parents. There are also many other scholarships available and you have to apply for those wisely at the right time. Get all the documents with you every time especially if you're an out of station student.

Campus Life

3.5

The annual fest is usually conducted in the month of February-March every year. Our departmental fest (Ambrosia at my time) will be held before that). Almost all kinds of books are available in the library and it is easily accessible. The library is quite big and has a lot of books. You can use computers also there. Reading space is also available on the first floor of the library. It's a peaceful space with ideal conditions to read and study. All kinds of sports and arts are encouraged. Volleyball court, Tennis court and a large cricket and football ground are there in the college. Also, moksha, Music society and Dance society is there for talented students.

Other Applied Colleges

Shared Rajguru college | B.Sc (H) Food technology

I just googled and felt bhaskaracharya college is more good for me as it is purely under government.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
