A perfect honest review - KIIT

Many institutes provide MBA nowadays but getting a degree from a good institute keeps the value of your degree high. After I secured a good percentile in CAT I applied at KIIT as during the last few years the institute has grown rapidly. It has bagged the 31st position for MBA according to NIRF in 2021. I filled the application form online and gave all the details required in the application.

The course of MBA is diverse and there are so many subjects that we study in these two years. Apart from theoretical subjects there are other skills like communication skills, analytical skills, leadership quality and other such skills which are enhanced. The professors are vastly experienced and they help us regularly. Case studies, industry visits, assignments, group project are used for teaching. There are semester exams at the end of each semester but before that we have internals which is taken few weeks before that.

The internship program is one of the finest and the institute provides paid internships to all of its students. An 8 to 10 weeks internship program is organized and companies come to recruit the students. Some students receive PPOs as well. The average stipend varies from 15000 to 20000 rupees.

During the last few years, the placement has remained 100 %which is a big boost to us. The final year students sit for placements and before that they are groomed to make them industry ready. Reputed companies such as Deloitte, YES Bank, ICICI Bank, ITC, Reliance Jio, TCS, Tech Mahindra and others come for placements. The highest domestic package for our seniors was 13 LPA while the average salary was 7 LPA. Most of the students were recruited in Sales and Marketing.

The fee for the two-year MBA is moderate compared to other top institutes. The annual fee for the MBA program is 5.6 Lakh rupees thus a total of 12 Lakh rupees is to paid in two years. Scholarships such as KIIT Poverty – Cum – Merit Scholarship, KIITEE Merit scholarship, KIIT Merit Scholarship are available for the students and they can apply for scholarships as per eligibility.

Due to the pandemic we don’t have an in hand experience of the campus but during my two visits I found the campus very eventful. The campus is very happening. Cultural events and technical events are organized for students so that they can showcase their skills. In our online classes, various webinars and events are organized so that we can get a taste of our culture. I’m eagerly waiting to visit the campus and complete my degree from there.

After securing a good percentile in CAT and making it through the cut-offs there is a PI round which is to be given according to the dates notified to you through e-mail and text message. Due to the pandemic, the PI was taken online. During the PI your academic performance, cognitive skills, communication skills, and various other fields are analyzed to check if you are fit for the course.
