Remarks
IIT is the finest college for MBA in India. To secure a seat among high-minded people, one needs to score a great percentile in CAT. After that, you will sit for Group Discussion and a Personal Interview. There are no other specific eligibility criteria. The final List is based on all 3 aspects. I availed myself admission in the general category.
Course Curriculum Overview
The MBA program is divided into 4 semesters over a period of 2 years. There are 7 core courses and 59 electives. Core courses are Probability & Statistics, Production and Operations Management, Economics for Management, Decision Making and Quantitative Methods, Financial Management, Socio-Political, Legal & Ethical Environment of Business, and Organization Behavior. The faculty members were highly experienced and some even gold medalists. Exams were conducted within a gap of 3-4 months and were difficult to pass if you did not study well.
Internships Opportunities
One of the main highlights of IIT is its internships. In my batch, the highest stipend went around Rs.90,000. Total companies that provided internships were 32. Key recruiters were Ford, IndiaMART, Express stores, Portronics, RAAM group. I interned with JUSPAY in the HR department. The internship was paid, so it was kind of fun too.
Placement Experience
In the former year, IIT observed one of its best placements ever. More than 1000 offers were generated by the companies. The highest package went around Rs.62 LPA. Some of the major participants of the placement week were Flipkart, Intel, Jumio, Zomato, Oyo Rooms, Jaguar, IBM, Quadeye, Uber, Myntra. I got my dream job in Flipkart in the Human Resource Department.
Campus Life
Someone has rightly said that an IITian never rests. We used to work day and night on our projects and coursework. I was also part of the cultural club at the college. We organized a whole lot of events which attracted a great footfall. I also won an award for being the most active participant in cultural activities. Various rallies were also organized to aware people of environmental problems.
