Sri Venkateswara College Review- From Admission to Graduation

The eligibility of the course was 10+2, PCB (PCMB optional) and cut off marks released by the college. The cut off marks varies each year and multiple lists are realesed for the same year, lowering the percentage of the marks for the required subject with successive lists. All the instructions related to the admission process (admission criteria, application form and fees, documents required at the time of admission) are mentioned in the university website.

I chose this course because I want to do research in this field. The faculty:student ratio is generally 1:35. Most of the faculty members teaching this course have completed Post Doc in Botany. The teaching methods applied by the professors focus on making the core topics understandable, grasping all the key points. For practical classes, they attempt to give examples of application of the experiments in research field. The exams were held almost the same time every year and were easy to score if you prepared and understood all the major topics.

The total fees of the course is 31,078. There is some relaxation for scheduled lists and students with a military background. The students getting top ranks at university level are offered scholarships. Other scholarships apart from the university can be availed through departments or the faculty contacts.

The 3-day annual fest of college is conducted during the month of February. First two days are based on traditional theme and include performances from bands. The last day of the fest involved performance from well known artists. Wide variety of books for all the courses are available in the library. The campus is famous for extra curricular activities and cricketers from Indian Cricket team are often seen practicing on the ground during weekends. There are clubs for various activities run by students.
