IMSc. Physics in Birla Institute of Technology

I got admitted through JoSAA counseling. Money to be deposited in JoSAA portal was 35000 and 40000 respectively {which included the fee for the institute. In this 75000 rupees 2000 were charged for the counselling and the rest(73000) was deducted from the institute admission fee .

I love Physics and from this renowned institute I can get a suitable accelartion for my career as a researcher in the field of Physics , so I decided to take admission in this institute. This institute is well-reputed, and here I would get a very nice college life as this is a 780 acres campus full of facilities. Here the laboratories are also well maintained and modern , exactly what is needed to get better experience of experiments .

Internship opportunities are not bad. IMSc.Students can avail their internships from TIFR, IUCAA( stipend is 15000 rupees for two months ), etc. research institutes. But cracking this kind of internship solely depends on the students.

Placement for BTech is not bad. median placement for circuital branches(CSE, ECE, EEE) is 10 L PA, and that for core branches is 6.5L PA. But placement scenario for IMSc. Physics and Chemistry students are not good. Only educational companies like ByJu's, Aakash, etc. hire us. We don't mind it as nobody joins these courses ( IMSc. ) to become a salaried person. This is our passion and craze for this subject that brings us here.

Fees are very high here and increase 10% every year. Fees structure is something that a student is going to hate about this institute. I think for 5 years(Integrated MSc.) the fees(including hostel and mess charge) should not be more than 6L - 7L.

Campus life is very good. This is a huge campus ( compared to many NITs and IIEST ) of 780 acres . Many clubs are there starting from literary club to entrepreneurship & innovation club, Clubs for almost every aspect is present here . And seniors are also very friendly .

Hostels are of moderate condition. Almost every boy gets a single room but the scenario for girls is a little different, unfortunately. Can't review the food as due to covid haven't tasted that yet. The student body controls the mess here as I know.
