A gist of what VIT is

There was an entrance exam named VITEEE for admissions in vit and according to the ranks in the VITEEE you get the branch accordingly. The cutoff for vit Vellore branch is relatively higher than the Chennai branch followed by Amravati and Bhopal branches.

Chose the mechanical branch because of my interest in mechanics and working on vehicles and vehicle building. Irrespective of tough study, the courses offered are relative and enough for some to gain knowledge in the particular subject.

We have options for many industrial internships that provide the basic nature of the practical world and implementation of the knowledge of the subject. Having a good connection with different industries help students with paid internship.

Placements are good and decent packages are offered. For mechanical a student bagged a 51L package by MXT that is a whopping amount for a non-it branch. You can always go for a master degree or do a PhD on some of the subjects that catch your eye.

Fees are like any other private college it's around 8- 20lakhs (tuition fees only) depending on the counselling phase that is something new for non-vitians. In short, this phase thing is a ranking based system that divides students into 4 to 5 category in which tuition fees varies from 1.96 L for the 1st category and 4.9L for the 5th category. Hostel fees are irrespective of your category and are available in single bedded, double, Tripple, four and six bedded. You need to score good marks in order to grab anything in vit of your own choice that includes hostel type and faculties.

There's RIVERA an annually organised function that is life for us vitians. Other small functions are organised throughout the year and you will not regret getting into this college just for the fest. We get mails for many techfest like technathlon and many more. There are more than 150 clubs here and you can join irrespective of your branch excluding branch specified clubs. All the sports are available on the campus because the campus is very big you can assume what all can be possible. As already provided before, the hostel offers 1, 2, 3, 6 person beds with ac/non-ac options. 1 and 2 bedded rooms are small with bunker beds in the room while other rooms have single beds. In every room is a separate almirah or locker for keeping your clothes and books and it is separate for students. Hostel mess can never come close to home food but still, it isn't bad. For the menu, there is a monthly review and the hostel in charge that is someone among the student decides the menu for next month.
