Remarks
You have to crack the WBJEE or JEE mains to get admission in the college. You should score a decent rank if you want to study CSE or IT. As both of these courses is in demand in India. There is no management quota in our college. You can always follow the official page of rcciit for more admission-related details. Our college also has a reservation system for seats.
Course Curriculum Overview
The main reason to choose the course as I was very much interested in computers and software. And it was my dream to pursue software engineering as a career. The faculty is good enough for IT. Not everyone is good but what matters the most is your core subject teachers should be good. And the teachers for the core subjects most of the time are great. And for the other subjects, there is YouTube. Exams are taken semester wise and in between, there will be internals, mock viva, practicals, main viva, and normal class tests.
Internships Opportunities
I didn't do any internships. They will push you to do an internship and also they will provide you support like you can miss a few classes if you are doing an internship. Due to covid, there was an internship which Makaut declared. So I did that internship and there I completed an ML-related project.
Placement Experience
From the 6th semester itself, students are eligible to participate in competitions arranged by competition arranged by various companies. Like we can apply for multiple coding challenges and multiple competitions organized by various companies from the 6th semester. And from the 7th semester, we are eligible to sit for campus placements. Our college bought companies like PWC, CTS, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Kriti technology to name a few. There are many other companies that came during campus placement. But there is one policy if a candidate cracks a job with any CTC then he will not be eligible for the next job opportunities. They will tell that the Ctc difference should be above 2 lacs but they will not allow the candidate to sit for the exam even if the Ctc difference is above 2 lacs with his current job.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't know anything about the fees hike policy. As it is affiliated by MAKAUT so every college affiliated under MAKAUT will have similar fees structure and it is paid semester-wise. During admission, I paid 62000 including the semester 1 fees. And after that each semester I paid 41-45k. I didn't apply for an internship during my course. But I did one internship with Makaut where we worked on an ML project. The internship was non paid.
Campus Life
There are many feasts which used to happen but covid ruined it. We have a technical fest named Techtrix and it was huge. The footfall was massive. We used to have many events like Robo wars, sprint o bot, span o bots, treasure hunt, competitive gaming, competitive coding, Pubg tournament, etc. Then we have our annual cultural fest Regalia. Last time The Local Train performed in our college. Many other big stars like Arko Mukharjee, Rishab Seen have performed here and also the Indian Ocean band has performed in Regalia? Then we have two sports fest Game of thrones and Kirton. There are many other events like Sharade for Saraswati puja. Bihaan which is freshers meet. the common room is also good, it has two tt table and carrom boards. So after a long lecture, you can just chill out in the common room.
