A spark of my golden life moment

The Admission for the college had the eligibility of 60% cut off in the Pre University Board Exam. The application form was found on the college website. Application fees and dates were all updated on the college website and payment was also accessible on the same website through the linked portal. No Reservation Benefits were availed by me. The admission process was pretty fast and smooth. So I don't want to see any improvement in the process.

The course that I had taken was B.Com which was for three years. As after getting through my Pre University studies in the Science stream, I figured out that I was really not interested to continue into that stream. Hence I decided to take up Commerce for my graduation. The faculty-student ratio was like 1:5. There was no such scenario that showed any sort of lack of availability of the faculties in my tenure. The faculties were very much qualified to the given courses that they were teaching. Most of the faculties were really good with thier teaching methods. However, there were some faculties, out of my observation, who were not upto mark with their classes and consistency. There were two internal exams for every semester. The exams were conducted once in 2 months or a month. Personally, I found it was quite hectic to score really well in most of my exams.

The placements that happened in our college was overall good. There were almost 50-60 companies that came for campus placements. The procedure of placements was as per the process of hiring of the respective companies. The students who have cleared all past semester exams and are admitted to the final semester become eligible for the campus placements. Companies like IBM, Amazon, Mphasis, Infosys, Accenture, Cognizant, Bisleri, ICICI, and many more were available with job offers for both IT and Non-IT job roles. The package varied between 2.5LPA to 3.5LPA as per my knowledge. Around 40 percent of students were able to get placed in the companies coming for the placements. After my graduation, I was prepared to work but as per the covid scenario I was not comfortable moving to another city, so I decided to take up a diploma course in the same college that took place virtually.

The fees structure was divided annually and there was a rise in the fees every year. The fees structure through out my graduation varied between 34000 to 38000. I was awared a merit cum need Scholarship at the end of my tenure of my graduation. There was also a free campus placement drive held at the end of our course.

There were a number of inter and intra college fests and seminars conducted throughout my graduation. The most awaited annual fests like Udhbav, Commercio, and Acme were conducted in September, October and January respectively. The college library was filled with real enormous varieties of volumes. There were books and magazines I came accross of many categories including that were unconventional. The classrooms were provided with speakers apart from the basic facilities. It was very spacious to include a strength of 80 students. The college had a variety of cultural, academic and sport events taking place throughout the year. A variety of inter class competitons were conducted and well appreciated with prizes on Annual College Day Celebration. The club that I was associated with was Commerce Association where there were a couple of activities and competitons conducted once in a week through out the year. There were some clubs conducted by students that were recignized.

The College Hostel facilities were pretty good and decent. The overall infrastructure was good, very spacious, and clean. There was a timetable that we were obliged to follow. The meal quality was overall good with a variety of menu in it. However, there were times of disappointment when there was some extra water in the tea or less salt in the food. But moreover, the overall meal quality seemed to be good and nutritious enough with both veg and nonveg counters. The hostel registration had to be done by visiting the hostel and having an interview along with parents with the hostel Director. The overall affordability of the hostel was pretty reasonable given the location of the city. However, there was a provision of discount for the students who actually needed financial assistance.
