The student-teacher ratio is good, we have small groups teaching (SGT) classes where 10-15 students are allotted to a faculty where interactive classes are taken, and doubt in that topic is solved there. The faculty are well trained and their teaching technique is good. They take interacting classes and seminars where students are given the opportunity to present their presentation and any doubt on that topic is cleared. Assessments are taken after a chapter or system is finished, every week or two a class assessment is taken. Semesters ending exams are being taken after the end of every semester, a pre-final exam is taken to allow students for the finals.

The internship is for around a year. Where you are allotted different departments for a particular period of time. Departments like Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, and Pediatric are compulsory where each department are allotted 2 months each, and rest of the months are rotated among another department. The patient exposure is really good in Gauhati Medical college, patients are referred to GMCH from across the Northeastern states. As it is a government college the course fees is very low as compared to another private college. During the admission time around 32000 thousand fees in taken and for registration around 7 thousand. Other expenses are like hostel fees which is 2-3 thousand per month and few other expenses. In total, in a 1st it takes around 50 thousand and some expenses of books and uniforms. Rest of the years the expenses are mainly for books, hostels, exam fees. You can apply for scholarship like like NSP ( national scholarship programme). Where if you apply you get upto 78000 per years. Some other scholarship program are there like minority scholarship and MLA scholarship, some district also give scholarship to their students. Some scholarship are also given to certain tribes of the states through the state ministry to aid their education

It is an open campus. The college is located on a hill, Narakasur Hill, a very famous place the locals, few viewpoints are there from where you see the view of the Guwahati city and the Brahmaputra river. An annual fest called SYNCHISIS which held during the month of February Or march. Singers from all over the country and invited for the concert night. Much cultural dance and song programs are held during the fest. Different tribes across the North East participate their signature tribe dance. The college provides the students with two libraries one open during the college hours up to 4 pm and the other open upto 8 pm. A huge collection of books and journals are there. The lecture halls are air-conditioned and classes are on a projected PowerPoint presentation. The sports ground was there but due to covid a screening center was made so outdoor games are not played but indoor games like table tennis, badminton etc. A quiz group is there which is popular around the region and won many titles.

Hostel are really is good conditions, the renovation was done a year ago, the condition of the rooms are good, with adequate lighting and ventilation. The rooms are equipped with light, a seeling fan, a table, and chair, a bed, a cupboard with few selves. Three meals are provided in the hostel mess, the quality of the food is good. Meals are provided during the given allotted time. The water supply is good. The registration process is easy, not cumbersome process. The monthly fees is around 2-3 thousand which vary from hostels to hostels
