During admission it hard to judge in which round actually your name will appear as the previous round cutoff doesn't appear early. next the document verification process should be confined completely online even after post covid as its very helpful for students
Course Curriculum Overview
As mining is considered the best among every college in IIEST SHIBPUR..so I opted for this course. Around 1:80 I guess is the faculty-student ratio. The entire faculty is highly qualified, Ph.D. level scholars, master degree holders. Term exams appear around within 2 months for the first year.
Internships Opportunities
Internship stipend depends upon company to company and it lays between around 10k-40k Companies are from tech, nontech,core And any of the students can apply there is no limit that a core guy can't apply for a tech company
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students can apply for company placement. Around 500 offers were made ..and around 700 companies visited the campus. The highest package was about 25lpa and an average of about 9 LPA *For mining department
Fees and Financial Aid
It's hard to say but even after being a central government-affiliated institution still, the course fees are really high it's around 1.3 lakh ..for a general student, but yes the facilities which are being provided is also worth it within the price limit. NSP, swami Vivekanand, few private scholarship programs.
Campus Life
REBECA(Cultural fest) INSTRUO ( Techno management fest) Gyandhara( quiz fest) Oikotaan ( another cultural fest) Anuranon( dramatics fest) Tedx IIEST SHIBPUR. I guess if you are a book lover your true lover is the campus library .
Hostel Facilities
Due to covid pandemic the room mates are now reduced from 3 to 2 . Hostel though have a old outlook from outside but the rooms are quite good maintained, hygenic , 24*7 wifi service is available , common bathroom are provided. Meal are of average level sometimes you don't even want to taste just by looking the menu ..and sometimes you would love to jump over to the food.
