Remarks
The admission is done through wbjee exam. There is a reservation for SC, ST, OBC, Specially abled students. I rank 220 in this exam and I was selected for the computer science engineering branch. This year for cse cut off was 227 for it 505, for electronics 404. And there are many other branches for that rank under 2000 is needed. Here application fee is 5000INR.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose a computer science and engineering course. Faculty-student ratio is 10:1. The faculties are very well qualified and almost all of them are PhD. And they teaches also very well and they are very helpful and friendly and clear all the doubts of the students. After every 4 months, there occurs a semester exam and the exam is very conceptual and more difficult to pass than other colleges of West Bengal.
Internships Opportunities
Some giant companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, IBM, PWC, de shaw, salesforce, BHEL, iocl, Gail, texas instruments, Cesc adobe and many more. Last year there was 33% tech company, 33% finance company, and 33 % core company cam in the campus.
Placement Experience
From second year internship and PPO started. And from third-year placement session started. Almost all the top tech companies from the world like google Microsoft, Facebook come consistently on campus. The highest package in the history of the university is 1.1 cr LPA and last year it was 60 LPA. The average package in the case department is 20 lac and the overall average package is 10 LPA. Almost all the students of cse it etce and ee department is placed. My plan is to get to be placed in a good company after getting a degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee in total BTech course is 9600 INR which is the lowest in entire India. And the fee structure is very helpful for student to carry on their higher study and to plan a start up idea. Also, there are free studentship opportunities for toppers and there are tuition fees waiver schemes and scholarships from the west bengal government for economically backward students.
Campus Life
The annual fest is "SANSKRITI" and tech fest is "SRIJAN" and there are also many other departmental fests. There are also occurred many sports competitions on campus. There is a central library with 6 lakh books with many journals and also there are libraries for every department. There are many clubs like painting, photography, music, dancing, drama, debate, science, code, mountaineering, graphics, chess and many more. The campus life is very beautiful. The campus is big with some ponds, fields and full of greenery.
