IIEST, Shibpur is NIT and hence any person can get admission for B.Tech courses in the JEE Main exam. This year the entire admission process was conducted online through JOSAA counseling. Anyone can check the cut-off in josaa portal according to his/her choice of branch and category. Along with that if you have given your class 12 exam from West Bengal then you can see the Home State cut off. As far as reservation benefits are concerned, if you belong to GEN-EWS or OBC-NCL quota then you must have a category certificate in Josaa format which is issued for the current financial year i.e after 1st April. The online admission process is smooth and most of the candidates get admission without any problem.

Then Tuition fee is 62,500 rupees for every semester which is very similar to all the other nits and on this tuition fee you can get tuition fee waiver by providing a family income certificate issued by the competent authority. if the family income is less than 5 lakh then two-thirds fee waiver on tuition fee-only and if family income is less than 1 lakh then full waiver on tuition fee. SC/ST candidates get a full tuition fee waiver.

Hostel: There are 18 hostels on the IIEST campus. 3 separate hostels are specially provided for female students. Each hostel has its own mess and chief warden.
