#MyOpinion on my beautiful college

IIEST, Shibpur is one of the prestigious colleges in India.It was started in 1856 with civil engineering department at shibpur, Howrah.The college is full of greenish trees. It also has a lake and everything complete a wonderful scenario of environment which is very important for a healthy college life and study life. The college has also two playgrounds and the most interesting fact is it has different types of societies or clubs where students can take part and bring out his or her passion on music,dance,drama etc.It also has a swimming pool. The teachers and seniors are very helpful. Although everything are okay there is a problem of hostel building and infrastructure. As it's a very early college the work is running on it's infrastructure. At last, You definitely enter this college without any doubt.

It is a central government college which is under the NIT authority. It is very famous across India as it continues its pride since almost 170 years. Also It's placement and internship record is very good. On the other hand, many students from it go to higher studies like m.tech and PhD in different renowned places in India and abroad. Electrical engineering department is highly great in this college and I am happy to study this branch in this college. The ratio of faculty: students is 1:25. It's very good ratio as we are able to connect and make out teachers clearly. The teachers are highly qualified. Most of all completed their PhD from IITs and other renowned institutes in different fields. concept clearing and double solving techniques of them are interesting and quite understandble. There are two exams in one semester.one is mid sem exam in middle of semester session and other at the end of semester there is a end sem exam. The students who seriously studied can easily pass it.

Basically from 2nd year the students get any internship offers from different companies like infosys, Wipro etc. And the price or stipends are so High for intership program. Many of my seniors are engaged with it.As i am pursuing 1st year in this college so i am not able to tell all internship program or projects.

In this from 2nd year many internship offers come and students get it easily. Basically after 5th semester the students get placement offers here. Last time there are approximately 600 offers made in different branches and almost 450 companies visited.Percentage of placed students are different in different branches. Yet overall the percentage comes 85-90%. The companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Wipro, Infosys, Jio etc came last time. The average package also differs in different branches. In CSE, the average package was 16-17 lpa and in our EE department it was Nearly 11 lpa and the highest package from our college last time is nearly 52 lpa which is from CSE. I have a plan to get placement after BTech course and also have a plan to pursue Mtech.

In the college there is a facility of tuition fee waiver for sc/st/PWD students and the general or obc students whose family income is below 1 lakh/year. And the general or obc students whose family income between 1-5 lakh per annum get 2/3 rd tuition fee waiver. This system helps students a lot as a financial assistance. Besides students can get their respective State government scholarship. With all this financial help the final cost for college is affordable. Many internship offers from Infosys like company come to the students here from 1st year. The on campus job opportunity is very high with stipend.

There are lot of societies or clubs for music, dance, drama, photography, art, literature and many more are here. There are also clubs for Sports and games like cricket, football, badminton, chess. The facility of outdoor activities like swimming, NCC,NSS etc are in the college. In technical field there are robotics club, coding club, societies of different departments. Engineering safety and entrepreneurship cells are very famous here. Social works and philosophy of swami vivekananda are running in youth clubs.There is a annual fest cum reunion named REBECA in IIEST. The facility and availability of different types of books in its library is much more satisfactory.
