IIEST- A college with Lots of love and Enormous knowledge

First of all you should know that IIEST shibpur is now an NIT from 2019 so the eligibility criteria of this college is also same as the other NITs. You have to Get a Good Rank in JEE main to take admission in this college. You should apply for JEE mains Examination Conducted by NTA every year and it's application fee is Rs. 650 for General /EWS and OBC candidates. However, If you are ST/SC/ PwD or a girl candidate you have to pay Rs. 325. Questions From Physics, Chemistry and mathematics will test your subject knowledge and In-depth knowledge is a must if you want to score good marks.

I am from the Department of electrical engineering and I choose this Because I love the Circuital Experiments and Subject which Connects Electricity to Humans. Here Faculty are really good they will teach about Each and every topic. They are highly qualified and most of have them Have PhD degrees,Pass out from Prestigious IITs. But be careful, here Faculty are really strict and you have to be very punctual and attentive in class. Actually, term test are very similar to other colleges. Mid sem and end sem exams are conducted at alloted time and if you attend classes regularly, Study Notes then you will Score good Graded in exam.

I think an internship is very much important for a student to develop basic and academic knowledge because you will learn something practical through an internship where you will be trained and guided by professionals and learn something new. In our college, you will get the opportunity to get internships in many Good companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Google, Airtel and even Microsoft. they will provide you a good amount. Software development and analyst posts are the best filed in which you should apply in these companies. After completing you will get a certificate which will enhance your CV during Job interviews.

The placement scenario is really good here. From 3rd year you will be eligible for placement and try to get an internship in good company which will be beneficial to you to get a good and early job. Many Reputed companies like Microsoft, Google,Apple,Mercedes,Amazon,Deloitte participate in Placement process and recruite good number of students. In 2021 highest package offered was 62 lakh to a CST student by Atlassian and almost every student got placed here. In Electrical Engineering 56 students got placed out of 72 with an average placement of around 8 lakh and the highest package was 26 lakh. This college is also known for Higher studies and research.So If you want to Go for Research then you are heartily welcome here.

Actually in our college Fee is not hiked yet even if Fee hole policy has been executed. The tution Fee is 62000 and the institute fee is Rs. 5000. hostel and mess fee will not be paid in online classes. It will be asked only if an offline class will continue. If your family income is less than 1 lakh then 100% fee tution waiver will apply. If you are SC/ST candidate then also you will get this scholarship. If your family income is between 1lakh to 5 lakh then 2/3rd of your tution fee will be waived off. If your family income is less and you get a good CGPA then you can get a Scholarship from college also (GABBSU) which is funded by Alumni of this college. However you can also apply for other Scholarship like NSP and Seimens scholarship.

Many technical and cultural fest takes place and surely you all will love this. "Rebecca" World-class Cultural fest where students from different colleges also participate to show their talents. Usually, This fest occurs during August and Students enjoy it a lot. In our college, there is an E-library where you can access about more than 16 lakh books and resources for free which is absolutely a great benefit during these conditions. Classrooms are fully equipped with AC and Lecture halls are good enough to hold the capacity of students. Large benches are also here. Sports and eSports clubs are also here so you should not worry about your sports hobbies or talent. If you are a mobile or PC gamer then you can play tournaments also. For Electrical Engineering EES society is run by students and similarly many clubs are here for all departments.

So hostels are the place where you will conserve and create sweet memories. In the first year, 4 students are allotted in a single room. But rooms are large enough for a stay of 4 people but you all know. This is the only formality because you and your friend will do lots of fun in a single room. Mess is average here. You will not get food like cooked at your home but it's quite good and you will enjoy this. Veg and nonveg both are available here and the hostel menus are decided by the students through hostel representative. Hostel registration is completed during the admission and you have to pay hostel and mess fee at that time which is affordable like all colleges. But a due shortage of hostels students nearby college doesn't get the rooms in hostel and they reside outside the college in PG
