IIEST SHIBPUR (an NIT now), so we need to get a good rank in jee mains to get admission here followed by josaa counselling I joined this college in 2021 and the admission process was simplest of all Nits we just have to scan the required documents like admission form, caste certificate, and other stuff as mentioned on iiest site to a particular mail, then our documents were verified by g meet and we received our enrollment ID.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am an electrical student because of my deep interest in electro mechanical machines like Tesla turbines, etc. Curriculum in iiest is research oriented we have the best labs here especially electrical labs that can even beat IITS. Faculty focuses on analytical skill development of student , 15 student per teacher is good ratio. Faculties are all PhD HOLDERS, they are energetic and dedicated most of them are foreign research scholars too. Exams have been affected by vivid situations we got less time to prepare so that's a problem.
Internships Opportunities
Infosys offers internships based on aptitude tests. The internships provide you with pure industrial exposure and help to develop your technical and communicative skills, it also helps a lot during placement.
Placement Experience
The placement has increased very much in the last few years. 2020, highest package 39 LPA avg 8 LPA. 2021, highest 52 LPA, avg is not disclosed yet. We get various internship offers depending on academic performance and coding skills.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since it's an NIT so fee structure is decided by the central government I.e the 125000 tuition fees per year. Mess and hostel fee combined is 40000 in the first semester. We get scholarship benefits like GAABESU, NSP Siemens scholarship, various merit based scholarship are also available which may reimburse complete tuition fee too.
Campus Life
Rebecca is our annual fest. Ramanujan central library offers more than 100000 books and journals all combined, we have an e-resource portal where we can get all course material in pdf format too. Sports facilities are awesome we have a amazing swimming pool too. Iiest Facebook group is there where we can interact with our seniors who solve our every query.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel has some accommodation problem, 3 seater room is generally available. Mess is under student control. Food quality is good. To apply for the hostel we need to send the application form to mail and it's done. No complicated process.
