Remarks

One of the most important factor was the Branch Change Policy of this college. I took admission in this college with EE as my branch but was able to change it to CSE due to the liberal branch change policy. Also, one of the most intriguing thing about the college was its closeness to untouched nature.

Course Curriculum Overview

The overall curriculum of the college is quite updated with regards to other college with branches like Data Science. The frequency of exams is decided by the faculty of the course. on an average, you can expect around 2 Quizes and an End Semester in a semester. Passing a course is fairly easy. The profs are quite good, both academically and nature wise. They are all very well qualified with PHDs from famous institutions. Nature wise they are very helpful and friendly as well.

Internships Opportunities

The on campus internship process begins after the end of second year for the summer of your third year. Some of the companies visiting for internships are Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon, etc.

Placement Experience

The placements for EE and CSE are quite good. The median package going around 15 lpa . Also, for the previous year, 95% of all eligible students in CSE were placed. Some of the companies visiting for IT department are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Adobe, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is regulated by the Govt. On average you can expect the overall cost to be about 1,30,000 for one semester. There are many Caste based scholarships to aid it and also there are merit cum scholarships based on your academic performance. Also there are many opportunities for paid projects under one of the instructors. You can also get financial aid from the alumni cell as well as there are many scholarships from different companies as well.

There are numerous club for things you would want to dive into in your college life. The clubs are all student run. Apart from that there are numerous fests happening all around the year. Also, there are very few restrictions on hostels. The sports facilities are all well developed.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

I chose this course because I liked horticulture .This course is very well applied in real world in cultivation and growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers and horticulture also has job opportunities in private sector. Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. IIT MANDI KE ANSUNE KISSE

The admission process at IITs are generally common through a cmon entrance exam all over India named jee mains for nits and then after qualifying in that we need to score good in jee advanced. There are reservations for sc, st, obc and economically backward classes. Like you can get good branches with lower marks. For example in computer science you can get 6000 rank for obc but around 2000 for general candidates....Read More
