Review of KGEC

Since it was the most affordable college in West Bengal it was one of my top picks and given my WBJEE score this was the best college int terms of placement statistics I could've got into. I always wanted a college in my state that will be close to my home and also I would be in around my own culture.

All our professors have high qualification and are well experienced. Maximum of them try to blend with students and help us not just academically but also give good counselling. Whatever they teach helps us in placement quite a lot.

Big companies like TCS, Capgemini, Oracle and Wipro come for placements so if one is good enough then he has the oppurtunity to get himself placed in a good company. Not all students get placed though the highest package is around 6 lakhs and average is near about 3.5 Lakhs

There are four hostels in college and their fees is not very high. The food is not very good it takes a lot of time to get used to but can be tolerated. Classrooms are quite old but labs are well equipped and the large library makes up for it quite a bit.There are various clubs and socities in college covering all domains like coding, entreprenuership, photography, dance and music etc.

It is a very affordable college the fees is quite low and affordable for almost everyone.My fee for first year was 16,500.Some students can even get full waiver of tution fees and some 50%.SC/ST and other minority students are provided financial aid by the Government.

There four hostels in the campus seperate for boys and girls Food in hostel is quite bad.There are paying guests in the city but are way expensive than the hostel and even worse food quality.Classrooms are satisfactory but labs are quite good. The library is big enough to find whatever one is looking for. The wifi is available around the campus and is very fast gives speed upto 10 Mbps. Overall it is satisfactory.

Hostel building are quite old but maintained but food is quite poor, there is not much variety in menu. There are both veg and nonveg available. Hostel are affordable enough including the food given the quality its priced well.

Only gave entrance WBJEE. There are no GD, or interview. WBJEE is generally held in February but due to covid dates might have altered in the last couple of years. Test preperation is similar to any other entrance exams. Syllabus is of classes 11th and 12th.Test is taken in two halves one for physics and chemistry and other solely for maths. All questions are MCQ.
