Review on IIT Delhi (Department of Textile and Fibre Engineering)

IIT Delhi is one the best institute in India that is why I chose this institute. The admission process is really simple and quick. I didn't find any bad aspects of this institute. The administration department is quite helpful. It has a big central library where you can find most of the books, journals. The campus is installed with WiFi facility. They give free access to many software. You can download most of the reputed journal articles that are not available on google. Last, but not least the professors are really good and friendly.

PhD is one highest qualified degrees and IIT Delhi is the best institution in India for textile. The faculties are well qualified. Most of the professors have completed their PhD with IIT Delhi. They have a great grasp of their subjects. The professors provide excellent study material for their respective subjects, as well as explanations with examples and experiments. IIT is extremely punctual with the timetable and exams schedule. They take term exams on time. They are considerate enough in case of medical emergencies. Additionally, you can see your evaluation report within 15 days.

The placement is really good. Students can apply for placement only after they are done with their synopsis in PhD. Post Graduate and graduate students can apply for placement in the final year. In textiles, Vardhman, Nahar, BMD, Trident India, Alok and some MNC are also providing good job opportunities. If you are not placed, then you can join as a research scholar or project staff. They also support start-ups. IIT alumni association give funds to those students, who are interested in start-up/ business. You can go through the IIT Delhi home page for further information.

The fee structure of IIT is quite reasonable. I paid 21450 for PhD 1st semester including tution fee and other fee. If you want accommodation, you have to pay around 47000 (25000 mess change included) for hostel, security, and mess charges. They provide fellowship for different courses such as MHRD, institute fellowship, project-based fellowship, PMRF fellowship. You can participate in various fellowships within India and abroad. The campus placement is the best. You can get your jobs before completion of your degree. They support startups as well as provide employment with various opportunities.

Campus life is awesome. You can enjoy your life 24 hours. The campus is always open usually (pandemics is exceptional due to lockdown). There is an annual cultural fest Rendezvous which is very famous among youngsters. Some celebrities visit the fest and have their concerts too. Stand up comedy, student activity Centre, and drama club are some of the instances of the prevailing curriculum. There is a huge playground for sports. There is a gym in each hostel (14 hostels) and a separate girl and boys gym in SAC along with a swimming pool. In the initial days of college they arrange a fresher party, hostel night, farewell, Saraswati pooja and some more events along with the academics.
