Christ College is a High profile name among Private colleges in Kerala and that is the reason I did my BCA here. The college has recently been placed 65 for overall rankings by IndiaToday. Along with 'A' grade NAAC accreditation the college is approved by UGC.It is affiliated to the University of Calicut & there is availability of UG,PG as well as Doctoral courses. Admission to the BCA programme is based upon factors such as entrance score & Interview performance.
Course Curriculum Overview
BCA is surely a secure option for those students who want to do something in the field of Computer Applications and that's why I opted for this programme to pursue my UG degree. The course was semester based and the curriculum was well distributed to help students learn well & for practical knowledge a well maintained computer lab was available in our college. All faculty members were commendable as they never backed off to help us on our doubts and problems.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities at Christ College are really good ; various industries, NGO's visit the college so that deserving students can get a good exposure to the actual work environment. I was happy to be one of those selected and the best thing was that I got to work with one of my dream groups through that internship.
Placement Experience
All Placement activities whether it's the Mock Interview, Seminars or the actual Placement drive are organised by the Placement cell of our college. Few popular recruiters of our college are TVS Group, Tata consultancy, KPMG, HCL, Wipro, Infosys and MRF tyres. The placement records of BCA have always been good and our batch also managed to have them. Although, I haven't appeared in the round due to some family reasons.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure at Christ College Irinjalakuda is obviously higher than normal institutes because it is private but eligible students can get reservation or Merit based concessions on their fee. However, the total fee was INR 8.71 Lacs and it was charged in particular shifts from the students
Campus Life
Our college is an established Private college of the state and its campus life totally justifies the name it holds. The most popular things in the campus were the NCC Cell, Sports, Canteen and obviously the Cultural fest. Alongside this, a well organised library hall was also there and students can get a deeper understanding of their curriculum through laboratories. The whole college is facilitated with 24*7 internet connectivity
Hostel Facilities
Yes, there is availability of hostels and they are seperated for both genders. Students get all their basic needs within the normal hostel fee while for special services they also have to pay additional charges. The mess services of our hostel are very famous because of its unmatchable taste. Students can even enjoy sports in their free time as Basketball, Football grounds and Athletic facilities are also available. I totally loved the environment of Hostels.
Admission
Students seeking admission to the famous BCA programme in this college must have scored the minimum eligibility marks in their XII standard. The shortlisting is based upon the entrance score of applicants and those who get selected then have to participate in the Personal Interview. Seat availability also plays an important part in final admissions.
