Remarks
The cause of the popularity of this college is its recognistion from top Educational groups that too with their top most prizes. Loyola is given Grade A++ NAAC accreditation & is one of the few colleges under University of Madras to have it. The college was 5th for Commerce in the 2021 rankings of IndiaToday group. Course Curriculum Overview
After completing my B.Com degree, I had decided to pursue Master's after going through a lot of things such as my Goals, Future scope etc. Loyola College has a large work team as there are over 700 members in different departments of the institute. The teachers for our M.Com course were also very experienced just like all other teachers. The course was of semester type and the curriculum was designed in such a manner that students get the best out of their 2 year time period
Internships Opportunities
Our college used to organise an internship round where companies used to appear and choose students to work with them for a particular time stint. They also used to give good stipends for that work period. It was a really handful opportunity for us due to the numerous benefits it offered.
Placement Experience
I had high expectations from the placement drive of Loyola as all my hopes stood on the offer I would get. Companies such as HCL,Goldman Sachs,TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Deloitte,ICICI Bank and Dell visit the college for Placements and thus students get to have really good packages. The total recruiters for my batch were over 100 and we got to record an average salary package (annual) of INR 5.4 Lacs. I was very happy with the job package I received.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For M.Com at Loyola College I had to pay an annual fee of INR 11,580 which makes the total programme fee NR 23,160. However the fee can even be lessened by getting the Merit of category scholarships available. But to avail them, candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions of the Govt.
Campus Life
This was the best thing at Loyola College for me as having self confidence and trust is really important in an individual Which I gained through the campus life of college. There were various facilities such as Canteen,Modernised Classrooms, Computer lab and auditoriums. The library services included both Books, E-books & e-journals also. The whole college has wifi connectivity and a health center also.
Hostel Facilities
The college offer's hostel facilities in different kinds. Rooms are available in Single,Double,Four & Five person occupancy and the charges are different for all of them. Although I was a local, to give proper time to my studies I also stayed in the college hostel and the experience was worth the charges. Mess facilities were also given in good quality.
Admission
It is important to have a B.Com or BBA degree to become eligible for the M.Com programme at Loyola College. The admission is based entirely on performance of applicants in the entrance exam and also the Personal Interview round conducted by the institute.
