Remarks
SBSC has a 3.26 CGPA score of 4 points by NAAC along with Grade 'A' & this was one major reason why I chose it for my Graduation. The college is affiliated with Delhi University and has been ranked 5th among all DU affiliated colleges. Being a Public institute the fee here is reasonable and students must match the cut-offs released to apply for admission in any UG programme under this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
My father is also a Commerce graduate and that motivated me to go in this field and thus I opted for B.Com at SBSC. The course is a good balance of education and skill learning. Our faculty team was very hardworking and Professor R. C. Jain was my favourite teacher in our department. The 3 year B.Com course had a total of 6 semesters and the exams we're that difficult but the condition is that you must have prepared yourself according to the syllabus & previous year exams.
Internships Opportunities
Yes,SBSC arranges an internship round every year for eligible students and various firms and NGOs visit the college for the same. I worked with a Ngo & as it was for a noble cause. It was an unpaid internship but still I was very happy due to the kind of learning experience I got.
Placement Experience
Our college also has a separate cell for all Placement activities and it has 10+ members playing their part for successful implementation of the Plans. Companies such as JP Morgan, Bain & Co, KPMG, EY India and Deloitte visit our college for recruitments and some of the packages offered to our batch were pretty handsome in terms of salaries. I had plans to go towards higher education & thus I haven't participated in the placement drive.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee for my B.Co. degree at SBSC was INR 22,555 while students who are from NRI section will have to pay a total of INR 65,155 rupees for the same course. I got to know that the college also appreciates Meritorious students for their academic performances and special aids were available for Girl students under some conditions.
Campus Life
For me the campus life at SBSC was probably the best I could have experienced because I got almost everything I was craving for. There was a well equipped Library with Journals, Newspapers and E-resources. Students get club's such as NSS, Rotaract,NCC, Enactus etc & events related to Sports, Academics, Arts & Culture are organised by the college after regular intervals. Our computer lab and Canteen services were also popular among students from all departments and streams.
Hostel Facilities
Our campus also doesn't have hostel facilities like many other DU affiliated colleges and that leaves students with the option to opt for PG facilities available near the college. But I think it was not a bad thing because if students share PG rooms then their expenses also become very nominal and they also don't face much strictness or conditions there. Some PGs even serve food for which extra money is charged by them.
Admission
The cut-off for our batch was also High just like the annual trend and students having equal or more marks in their XII exams then the released cut-off were eligible to apply. I performed pretty well in my boards and that's why I secured a B.Com seat in this college. The selection was entirely based on the Merit and seat availability.
