Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

We have one professor for a class of 80 students. The course curriculum is detailed, the objectives, methods of learning, assessment styles and learning outcomes are well laid out in advance at the beginning of each semester. Attendance is a really big deal in Christ. So people wanting to prepare for CA and other competitive exams find it difficult to cope with. The University provides n number of opportunities (in the form of certificate based courses, credit based courses, electives, clubs, fests, events) to facilitate student involvement, learning and growth. The exam structure is pretty rigid, in the form of Continuous Internal Assessments (CIAs). One definitely needs to study well and pay attention to most of the classes in order to pass exams. The assessments aren't easy. The professors are all well qualified, so there isn't any issue with getting one's doubts clarified. You can go to any of the professors for help. There is this culture of - ask anyone anything anytime. If you won't ask, you won't get it. We are given several options to choose our specialisations in the area of our study- marketing, finance, etc.We are mandated to do extra courses, internships for career development. There are many courses with flexible subjects, so one can go through the course outline of each and choose what interests one most. This pretty much sums up everything.

Placement Experience

3.5

Christ provides lucrative placement opportunities to one and all. Companies like Goldman Sachs, D.E.Shaw, Deloitte, PwC, EY, Target, Cap Gemini, AB Inbev, Tres Vista, JP Morgan, KPMG, Deutsche Bank, etc come to campus with wonderful employment opportunities. The average salary for 2020-2021 was around 3 lakhs. Around 1/3rd of the students get placed.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Scholarship opportunities are given to second and third year students. There is one merit based scholarship that takes the students' academic records into consideration, and extra-curricular based scholarship that takes into consideration the several activities undertaken by the students. The fee structure gets a bit costly for students staying outside Karnataka, and even more costlier for NRI students.

Campus Life

4

Everything is nothing less than excellent. There are fests like Darpan, Inblooms, etc which are the university level fests. There are several other department level fests too. The libraries are very resourceful. I personally have 30+ hours of library attendance in a duration of 7 months. There are friends with over 100+ library hours. There are several clubs pertaining to the course, say finance clubs, marketing clubs, etc. There are several communities providing variety of services and opportunities to students like CAPS- for Academic and Professional Support (there are sub wings under this), CSA- for social activities (there are several sub wings under this), SWO- the Student Welfare body ( again has several wings under it. The university dance team, the university choir, the university music band, the volunteering community, etc all come under SWO), the NCC (for training students to become disciplined national service providers), etc.

Admission

The first step after the Application is the entrance test (CUET). After one clears it, we have the interview, before which there is a short 10-15 mins WAT session. CUET is not at all difficult to prepare for. You can just have any aptitude test book with you, and practice basic questions pertaining to time speed distance, probability, verbal ability, data interpretation. The level of questions are easy. One week of diligent preparation is more than enough. For the interview, you should know the course curriculum you're applying for in and out. Basic questions like- why Christ, tell me about yourself, why this course in particular. Just be confident. It will be fine.

In our period it was prestigious to study commerce stream in our college and had good rating for the course and the for students who passed out from that college. The management had good lot of concern about the poorer section of the society and hence kept the fee structure at a very nominal level and thus help to get education for all
