Remarks
Eligibility- Students should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects are compulsory) with a minimum of 50% as qualifying criteria. Then you have to fill Delhi University's admission form and wait for the cut-off list. For this course particularly your aggregated percentage of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be considered not the best four. If your percentage is on the cut-off list of any college then apply for the course. Due to covid-19, the admission procedure is done completely in online mode, you don't have to go to college even once. The admission process is fairly simple, just read the notification carefully (from du's official site) and follow the steps given in it.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as it gives me a chance to pursue further studies in any of Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics subject, unlike Honor's course where you can only opt for the subject which you did in Bachelor's. This is especially good for students who are not exactly sure about what they want to do and even those who are it's good to have options, you may not like mathematics in college as much as when in 12th. This is not a difficult course and the teachers are great and you won't have trouble understanding anything (i.e. IF you pay attention in class). Exams are always held timely for odd semesters in November-December and for even semesters in May.
Internships Opportunities
There is a Placement and internship cell in college that works hard to try and help maximum students to get internship opportunities. You can read about it from the college's official website to know more about it.
Placement Experience
The Placement Cell of the college aims to bring quality placement opportunities for the students of the college. The cell invites various companies from various fields in order to make opportunities for students with various disciples. The cell maintains constant contact with students through its Blog and Facebook page and also sends emails to students to notify them about the companies that would be visiting, thereby encouraging them to apply for the recruitment procedure.
Fees and Financial Aid
One of the best things about Delhi University is quality education with affordable fees. You won't have any issues with the fees. The fee annually for this course is 12990 and due to covid, you get concession and only have to pay 10280. For economically weaker students you have a student's aid fund and other scholarship opportunities which you will find on du's official website.
Campus Life
Every department has its own society which conducts regular academic programme related to its subject area. Apart from that, there are other societies such as the debating society which aims to develop sharp and logical minds, the cultural committee organizes various cultural activities. Trekking, mountaineering, and environmental protection clubs offer students opportunities for personality development and enrichment by means of promoting environmental appreciation. Kaavanjali engages the emergent creative talent through different sessions of poetry recitation. The Photography club provides an opportunity for young photographers to display their talents. Rangat is a new initiative by the college to encourage students with skills in painting and alight art. The Gandhi study circle and the Ambedkar Study Circle are greater initiatives to orient the students towards the idea of Mahatma Gandhi and dr. Bhem rao ambedkar resp. Women Development center is another organization.
