Entrance Preview
Being UG, there were no entrance exams and I particularly opted for this college as it was one among the best ladies college in our town. My special liking for maths made me choose the same as my score in my +2 was 195 in maths.
Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus was wide but easy with two electives, Statistics and Physics. Right from Linear Algebra to Operations Research we had different syllabus each semester.
Internships Opportunities
Sorry. As I was doing my UG, there was no need for internship. However, we had to do a compulsory project in our third year based on our specialization subject, maths.
Placement Experience
In general, for any UG course, job opportunities are not so much open, but still our college brought job offerings from some companies for outsourcing jobs during the final year.
College Events
We have many celebrations in our college and to name them, Fine arts, Independence day, Sports day, Christmas day, Mission Sales, Pongal and College day. Fine arts is the most scintillating event that is a competitive event between all the departments and is conducted for three colorful days.
Fees and Financial Aid
As I had already mentioned, our college offered scholarships for deserving students and for those from backward communities. Even I wad one of those benefitted students.
Alumni/Alumna
Fine arts, Sports day and farewell parties were the best keys to mingle well with the seniors and we never missed those opportunities. We were one as a department and there was no discretion as Ist, IInd or IIIrd years students. Till date, alumni meetings are going on, but I personally feel guilty for not being able to attend them.
Exam Structure
Ours is a semester exam system where exams are conducted twice every academic year and apart from that we would have two monthly tests and one model exam. Even semesters generally moved faster and that made the exams in even semesters hectic when compared with odd semesters.
Faculty
The faculty of maths department consisted of just 4 to 5 professors, but all were well versed with their syllabus. They were helpful and always wanted us to learn after complete understanding.
