MBA HR at NMIMS

To apply for MBA at NMIMS, you have to register for the NMAT exam via the GMAC website. You can choose a date and time as per your own comfort between the months of October and January. The cutoff is between 220-250 out of 360 with varying sectional cutoffs. The cutoff is released in February after which you are called in for WAT/PI process to finally get a call from NMIMS.

I chose MBA HR at nmims because of the numerous career opportunities available and the placement record over the last 10 years. there are 120 students in HR with around 20 professors. The professors are highly qualified with industry experience as well. The teaching method is basically project based and provides a corporate experience as well.

NMIMS provides various summer internship opportunities for students with companies like Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, EY GDS, etc coming to campus to provide placements. The stipend ranges from 20000-120000 per month for a period of 2 months. The job profiles offered are Recruiting and selection, performance appraisal, competency mapping etc.

The students become eligible for placements after the 4th trimester when companies like reliance, tata, unacademy, etc start coming to campus to provide job opportunities to students. The average package is around 13LPA with the highest package being 25LPA. The college has a record of 100% placements for its students in the last 10 years.

The cost of study includes course fee which is 1095000 per year and hostel fee which is between 250000-300000 per year. The yearly fees increase every year by 100000 making it expensive for students to be able to afford it. The college provides various placement opportunities for students with numerous companies coming on campus to offer jobs to students.

The campus life is amazing at SBM NMIMS with various fests such as rubaroo, euphoria happening all year round. the classrooms are a state of the art technology with a hybrid class facility as well. there are various clubs and committees as well such as the placement committee and student council along with various interest based cells such as nepathya, ecolibria, verve, etc for students to get enrolled into.

In the admission process, we went through 2 rounds. One was WAT in which we had to write an essay on a given topic followed by an interview. The interview revolved around basic hygiene questions and hobbies. to prepare for these rounds, I enrolled myself on career launcher classes who helped me achieve my goals.
