I joined Techno International Newtown in 2019. The admission process was very easy. I just had to submit my marks sheet for classes 10 and 12 and my Wbjee rank card. My admission experience was good. This college also provides all scholarships in all states.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose electronics and communication engineering because I like electronics and computers. ECE department has two ways of placement, one is hardware companies and the other is software companies. There is a good ratio of faculty and students. Faculties are very friendly and have long experience of teaching. Exams are always taken on time expect some teachers. It's very easy to pass the exams if you do daily classes.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placement after the 6th semester. TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and Deloitte, etc are mass recruitment companies. The highest package is 10 LPA and the average package goes to 3 LPA. From the ECE department this time we had 70% placement, but I am not sure about other departments.
Fees and Financial Aid
General Students have to pay 4 lakhs approximately for the 4 years. However, for the students who come from financially weaker sections, they have to join with a TFW certificate or they can apply to WBFS after admission and then the fees for 4 year course become 'half of half' or half.
Campus Life
Our annual tech fest includes competition from coding, tech quiz, photography to essay writing and dancing, singing. It is conducted by students and faculty. Semester books are not always available in the library, if you are late to collect books, then you will get backdated books from the library, some times they can't give you semester books. There is a small sports ground in the backside of the college.
