One needs to take GUJCET (GUJARAT COMMON ENTRANCE TEST). Paper is conducted in 3 parts- 1) physics and chemistry (2 hours)(80 questions) 2) biology (1 hour)(40 questions) 3) maths (1 hour)(40 questions) PCM students need to take 1 and 3. PCB students need to take 1 and 2. PCM STUDENTS NEED to take 1,2,3. Eligibility of gujcet is 45% in 12th for general and for the reserved category it is 40%. Registration of gujcet begins on gujcet official website and a fee of 300 rs. has to be paid online for the exam. The application form is released in March and exams are generally conducted in April but due to COVID-19, it is being delayed to July/ August for the last two years. After the exam one needs to go through ACPC counseling counted for engineering specifically. For medical separate counseling is conducted. There are several mistakes observed in exam papers every year. Also, the time given to solve maths paper is very less as 40 questions are to be solved in 60 minutes.

LD college of engineering is among the top colleges of Gujarat and also very cheap in terms of fees as it offers a BE degree in less than 50k. Also, the faculties are great (Our department head is Ph.D. in electrical engineering from IIT Bombay). Also, the average placements lie in 3.5 to 5 LPA which is a great ROI and the highest placement always touches 7 digits from 10 to 12 LPA. LD college of engineering has a great alum base as it is India's one of the oldest colleges established in 1948. Also, placement cell is quite active and helpful to students. TCS, Infosys, accentuate are common recruiters.

Internships are often unpaid. The internships which are paid even those pay quite less. Not more than 15k. Internship cell provides internships on campus in local companies of Ahmedabad and ongc, LNT. Overall not very good.

Campus placements are average and big mass recruiters like TCS Infosys accentuate come-on placement. Offers lie between 3.5 to 5 LPA. And many students take TCS digital offers off-campus through codevita. Many students go for higher studies and don't take a placement.

I haven't received any scholarships. The fee doesn't hike instead it decreases like the hostel fee of 1st year is 4200 and for the next 3 years, it is 1200 per year. Course fee is 3000/year. It was ranked no. 1 in India by India today in terms of affordability. You hardly need any scholarship for studying here. The fee for reserved categories is even low.

No specific annual fest. But lakshya edutech fest is the tech fest of LD college which is quite average as nothing many innovative things are there. It is generally conducted in February but due to COVID-19, it is being delayed. Books related to academics are available easily in the library but other than that not many books are there. But overall the library is good. Classrooms are clean and quiet with simple facilities like fan blackboard and extra stuff. Overall good. The campus size is around 60 acres and many sports facilities are available like cricket, badminton court, volleyball ball, etc. There are multiple clubs run by college students- 1)Robocop club(for robotics) 2)coders club( for coding) 3)Mind palace (quiz club).

The hostel is quite nice according to price as it hardly cost around 350 rs/ month for 1st year and 100 rs/ month for rest years. You get a fan, a study table (Not very great) and a bed. It is to be shared with a minimum of 1 person. Number of seats in a college hostel is very less ( around 10 percent) compared to students. So students often live in their homes or choose PG nearby. Food is not provided at this due to COVID-19. But according to the best of my information the mess is not very good. Registration of hostel is done by the college through a form which is released by them and since seats are less. Stets are allotted on a merit basis(ie gujcet rank and category).
