Entrance Preview
Assam state engineering entrance examination. It chose this college based on the placement results. Did not have any interview to attend. Admission process was pretty simple.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was decent. Covered all the required technicalities. Had many trainings scheduled over the 4 years and were really helpuf. Had environmental sciences and few programming subjects as electives and were good.
Internships Opportunities
No internship as such. Had many trainings in different mines across the country. Attended trainings in cosl mines, iron ore mines in places like asansol, chattisgarh, orrisa, koraput, goa. There was no stipend offered as such. However facilities were good and had lots of fun.
Placement Experience
Almost all were placed and many were offered more than 2 jobs. Companies from all sectors take part in recruitment ranging from software to consulting. Cognizant, wipro, EnY, Tata moyors, mahindra, maruti are name of few companies.
College Events
Rebecca where all Bombay stars used to come. Great experience. This used to be once a year celebration where the cost of the events used to get contributed from alumnus spread across the globe. Students used to reach out to the alumnus either directly or electronically for contribution.
Fees and Financial Aid
Merit Scholarship I was awarded with due to good performance. Tution fee was waved off completely which saved around 40k.
Campus Life
Not that great. Politics was unbearable. Hardly any extra curricular activities were organized by the college. Politics was worst however I think it got better with time not very sure of current condition.
Alumni/Alumna
Network is good gaabesu is the group which alumnis get added to and they discuss and do get together as well. Alumnis get to meet on annual convocations as well. Rebeca is again a platform where alumin from across the globe come to enjoy the programmes.
Exam Structure
Decent. It used to structured into semesters. 2 semesters a year. So total of 8 semesters over 4 years. Also used to have lab tests. Class test in between semesters were also regular ones. Overall it was decent.
Faculty
All professors carry good work experience and the application of their experience in the academics made the curriculum look interesting for us. All professors were nice interesting with and they had shared their professional experiences as well which had helped us choose the right career.
