Sinhgad College Review

My admission process was very simple. I have my AIEEE exam and got selected in Sinhgad, Pune with the obtained marks. I came to check the college and was amazed to find that this exceeded my expectations. It's a beautiful and well-recognized college and holds many merits. The admission process was simple and quick. The officer also assisted me politely with all my queries.

The faculty are extremely talented and well educated. Even though the college is located in Maharashtra, the teaching language is strictly English to adhere to the norms. However, the teachers are patient and help each and every student with their doubts, difficulties, if any, after college hours and also personally guide and help them. The exams are strictly on time but the syllabus is not altogether difficult if you put your mind to it. Regular classes and revision after-hours and more than enough to clear the exams with good marks.

Talented students are offered internships from college and depending on their caliber, they get selected for high-profile jobs after finishing up with college. I myself went for a project on ' Technologies In Sensing And Measurement ' which describes in detail the different technologies related to sensing Eg. - Heat, Light, Sound, etc, and the ways/devices used to measure them accurately. Some internships offer stipends as well which can be around 7K to upto 12-15K a month.

The students are eligible to sit for college placements provided their average is above 55% without backlogs. Generally, the cut-off is 60% but during my time for batch 2012-2016, I was told that companies would also take in students with averages above 55% as well. Many known companies have ties to our college like Google, Microsoft, Accenture, Deloitte, Wipro, TCS, etc with average packages ranging from 3.5-4 LPA to over 20LPA. Around 70% of the students get placed while some opt for start-ups. I myself planned to pursue higher studies after graduation.

The fee structure depends on the course and college admitted to. There are around 5 Sinhgad college campuses located in Maharashtra and each has a slightly different fee structure. All are moderately affordable for students. Also, scholarship is provided to many students, foreigners as well which for some can go up to a full 100% fee waiver. I myself had a friend from Afghanistan who was on an 85% scholarship.

Sinhagad Karandak is the annual fest held every January or February. It's an amazing festival that grows and grows each coming year. People from all over the world are invited to perform. Many top personalities have come ranging from fashion models to actors/cricketers and top DJs. A big library, accessible to all students equipped with reading rooms and study halls as well which are open 24x7 Classroom amenities include well-lit rooms with maintained tables and desks for students, a blackboard equipped with a projector for showing presentations, clean bathrooms, and clean drinking water. The college boasts of an extremely vibrant atmosphere with students participating and conducting a wide variety of activities, competitions, sports, etc like football, cricket, drawing, painting, dancing, theatre plays, fashion shows, programming competitions, science fairs, food stalls lineups, etc.

Rooms are spacious and can accommodate 4 people each equipped with separate cots, beds, pillows, cupboards, tables, and chairs for each one of them. Separate bathroom and toilet in each room for the students. There is a mess facility available for the students where they can choose from a variety of college mess halls each with their separate nominal charge. The food quality of each hall is of top standard and the students can opt to eat in halls according to their choice of cuisine. Nearby private hostels are also available which charge minimal fees for students and are well equipped with all the basic necessities like clean drinking water, security, personal space, hygienic environment, mess facility, etc. I was surprised to find that private hostels would charge such student-friendly rates year-round and still provide many amenities to the students including WiFi.
