Remarks
For the third year of Psychology in Ruia, there isn't an entrance, you get selected based on your merit and if you opt for the reservation then based on that. There were 3-4 seats reserved for OBC out of 25 seats in the Third Year. Usually, it's individuals who maintain O and A+ grades in previous semesters who get admission in the third year.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum involved learning about different broader areas in the field of Psychology such as industrial, Cognitive, Psychometrics, etc. Thus giving an opportunity to explore these different fields and make decisions about what you want to niche in. The faculty members are practicing clinical and counseling psychologists and are more than qualified to teach the course. Especially Dr. Sangeeta Kamath who is the HOD gives you mastery experiences wherein you get to apply what you've learned and gained new skills at the same time developing essential skills such as emotion regulation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure varies if you are availing of the reservation but you can choose to fill the full fees. The full fees however for the Third year are around Rs.16000 which given the course was taken online due to the pandemic sounds like a hefty amount to be paid. There aren't any campus placements that are offered by the college.
Campus Life
There are many fests that are conducted. Every department has its own fests and "Perception" is an annual departmental fest that the Department of Psychology hosts where students conduct webinars and seminars on mental health-related topics along with competitions etc for juniors and Psychology enthusiasts to partake in. There is a library on campus that has books on a plethora of topics that you can borrow. There are various student teams as well which are responsible for college fests. All in all, there is a rich opportunity to develop your connections and most importantly friendships that would span you beyond your time here.
