Journey of an engineer in LPU

You must have 1st class result i.e minimum of 60% in your 12th board exams to meet the eligibility criteria for taking admission to LPU. Finding the form is very easy, just go to the official site of LPU and apply for admission, you have to fill in some details about the student and after applying you will get a date for the LPUNEST exam i.e the entrance exam. You will get to know all the revised details about different quotas and reservations on LPU's website itself. The overall experience of the admission process is very smooth and transparent.

I selected this course because Computer Science Engineering has a lot of scope in future and this college assures you to fulfil your dreams by providing excellent opportunities of getting placed in a company. Some of the teachers are not much experienced that's why the quality of study is just average so it becomes very necessary to focus on the self study thing. Overall the quality of teaching is just average. The course curriculum is relevant and yes, it makes the students ready for the industries. The ratio is ok between student and faculty This university has a different pattern of taking exams as compared to other private universities. It takes mid semester in MCQ mode with - ve marking which makes it difficult to score well in these exams. Each semester lasts for about 5 months and In this, you have regular unit tests which are important for your good TGPA. The average CGPA of this branch is between 6.5 and 7.5.

Internships are provided by various companies which had tie-ups with LPU like high radius, Infosys, TCS. Students can even have internships from their own sources. For getting an internship in a company, LPU provides us with the necessary training. We must have some projects to share with the companies so that they can know the skills and knowledge we have of our field.

Students become eligible to take placements from the 6th semester. The placement record was above 95% last year. The highest package was 22 lakhs per year, the lowest was 2.5 lakhs per year and the average was about 3.75 lakhs per year. Top Recruiting companies for my course are cognizant, TCS, Oracle, Infosys, Amazon, HCl, IBM. I aim to be a data scientist and after getting the degree I'll be enjoying my life as a data scientist.

The fees structure is not consistent. It changes every year according to different terms. If someone who is living in hostels and having mess facility, it will cost about maximum of 14 lakhs for complete engineering. I got a scholarship of 40% in semester fees through scoring good in LPUNEST.

LPU is very consistent in organising fests regularly. Youthvibe is the name of the annual fest and there are a lot of fests whose names are really hard to remember. But yes, you will be thrilled to get that kind of enjoyable environment. University also invites many celebrities from Bollywood and from Punjab. Our university has the largest library among all the other private universities, you will get a lot of variety in reading content in almost every field. The quality of classrooms in the uni is nice, and it has all amenities including projector, AC, and well furnished table chair. LPU is especially famous for its excellent facility in sports, Recently, in Tokyo Olympics, 12 athletes were from LPU. It is outstanding in providing every possible facility to the athletes. There are different clubs and organizations under LPU which organize different curricular activities regularly.

The quality of rooms in the hostel is ok, afterall it's a hostel room, all the rooms include one single bed one table and chair for every student. One Gyser in the bathroom of all the rooms. AC or cooler depends on the type of room student has selected. Food is very nice and student gets a choice to choose from different meals. Every day, meals are different so you will not be bored. I lived in BH2 in 4 bedded AC room in the 105-B wing in the starting of my engineering journey.
