Remarks

There should be an entrance test so as to select the bright students instead of counselling based on their marks. I need to say its one of the best colleges in India which produces bright youths for India in different fields. So I would rate my college A+++++ college. I have nothing bad highlight to expose my college. But in case of good highlights its unexpressable. I would prefer the students to come forward and taste this precious college so that they could perform a very respectable life. Everythings good. Thanks to the team of college dunia to let me have a chance to express my views on my previous college.

Entrance Preview

Actually there were no entrance during our admission time but there was a counselling on mark basis. I prefer the honours in physics as I was weak in physics during my 12th board exam as it was my challenge. One of my friends suggested me the GCM college Chandigarh as its one of the best colleges in India for the course of graduation.

Internships Opportunities

As it was a graduation course there were no internships and no companies were linked up with the college.

Placement Experience

0.5

As it was a normal graduation course, no companies were linked up with the college and there was no placement for the course. But as per the hard work of the students, they were successful in their respective fields. Many students have cleared the civil services, I mean the college products and they are serving in various administrations. Many have also joined the defence forces and they are protecting the country so that we can sleep well in our homes. The college products have become successful in their lives and reached the top most levels in their respective fields.

College Events

2.5

There were cultural programs and sports week during the foundation day week of the college and it was quite interesting in that week as we had the opportunity to show out the talents we have. Many other neighbouring colleges came to attend the cultural progammes which displayed the various cultures of different parts of India. And the most interesting thing is the food during the week which we had been waiting for months go come.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There were separate rooms for each student in the hostel and the warden too was very strict. Its quite a better place for our own prep time and the rate was also quite reasonable around 16000 approx for a year. But the mess food was quite expensive which comes a bill of around 1200 for a month but the food was A+++++ and there was also a option to prefer the foods of our choice.

Fees and Financial Aid

Didn't availed any loans or scholarship, so I have a little knowledge regarding that. But as far as I know some students got the scholarships during my stay. But I was not eligible as I m from the general category. But nowadays the respective states of India are also providing scholarships for their respective students. So one can availed the previlages and put hard hard work on the studies as there were no more tensions out of financial crisis.

Campus Life

3

There were almost 10:1 ratio of boys and girls in our class but in medical course the girls ratio were much quite higher than the boys. Everything regarding politics and economic status were normal. Dorm parties were unforgettable for birthday parties as we all awoke the whole night to celebrate. There were no discrimination and everybody were united in the name of the hostel. The college foundation week were the one which I prefer the most during my days.

Alumni/Alumna

The college seniors were quite supportive and helpful. But there were also some who were boastful as they know much better than us during the first years. The alumnis were very cooperative and we used to take advices from them as they are brightful in their respective fields. The old boys association was very appreciative as they sometimes funds for the development of the college.

Faculty

5

The faculties were well experienced and experts and they are much more than qualified lecturers. And a little drawback of the college was they offer honours paper on third year only and we had to study the vast syllabus of subsidiary subjects during first two years which almost is the syllabus of honours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Flexibility of course and type it has to be done . For further academic pursuits definitely yes but for real world application as of now except computer application there is no real world application of this as of physics it is more derivation type topic is covered in the first semester as of now. I course should be designed to prepare for real world application not the old school craming and derivation type. Exam happen twice a year in april and in novembor-december and of moderate level

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a Science student , I loved my curriculum as it provides application parts with laboratories . I choose this course as I always wanted to learn more about science and its various fields. For me overall curriculum is good and have moderate level but I would suggest to reduce the syllabus little bit so that most of the students can learn whole syllabus Exams are being conducted regularly as per the University guidelines.
