Venkatesh Surve's Review On Kishinchand Chellaram College - [KC College], Mumbai

I heard and read many bad reviews about this college but none of them are true. The faculty can speak English fluently and is helpful and friendly as well. The college management is excellent as well. It will soon emerge as one of the best engineering colleges in Mumbai.

I scored 38 in JEE. I opted for this college because it is one of the fastest progressing colleges in Thane and secondly the college is located 5 mins from my home.

Just gave my sem 1. I found some subjects not so useful. I am a computer engineering student workshop is not so useful for comp and IT students. BE and Maths are logical. Mechanics is outdated by today's standards. Physics and Chemistry are of no use as well. Instead they should give options for different IT or COMP subjects for FE students.

So don't know much but according to the college brochure around 28 companies came to our college for the purpose of placements. Some of them are BoschTeoco, Nokia, Infosys, Mastek, Sify, IBM.

Each year a event takes place. It is names Reflexions. Students from many colleges visit and participate in various events. Many events take place including technical and sports events.

Fee structure is quite reasonable in terms of the facilities that college is offering to its students. The campus is posh. Benches are neat and smooth. Each class has a projector and whole college is covered under CCTV surveillance.

Campus life is pretty fun I would say. The labs need to be little upgraded although the current equipments available are in good conditions. Sports events take place in February. Our college has its football as well as a cricket team.

The seniors are very helpful and friendly to us. They have several committees which FE students can be a part of. They give us useful tips about performing experiments, writing our papers to get through our viva etc.

Exam schedule was managed well by the staff. The vivas as well as the unit tests were not very hectic for us. The 3hr gap between the two papers was quite useful as well.

All the faculties are very helpful and friendly to students. The new way of giving printouts of the experiments has helped a lot to reduce workload of engineering students. All the colleges should make this facility available to their students.
