NIT Jalandhar Review

NIT Jalandhar provides 50% reserved for Punjab students. CSE from B.tech is the flagship source of the college and the college is very popular for its engineering courses in India. The college provides good placement for the CSE program. The college also has a reservation for 25% for females. I have also worked very hard to clear the JEE mains and to meet the cutoff criteria of the college in JEE and in academics. I am from Punjab and I wanted to take full advantage of such a great university and I was lucky enough to meet the cutoff criteria of the college. I not only cleared the JEE mains exam but also secured 75% marks in 10+2. After clearing the JEE mains I have to appear for JOSAA counseling after allotting the college seat I have to freeze the seat and appear at the college with my documentation to complete the admission.

The curriculum of the college is without a doubt is according to the latest industrial norms and standards. I have an interest in coding which is why I opted for the CSE program and must say that the college provides ample opportunities to learn coding and all the basics and advanced level of coding and importance of technology in the corporate world.

The internship is mandatory and we are eligible for the internship program after the 3rd year of our program. The college placement committee provides us with companies list and helps us out to identify companies according to our interest in the internship program. The stipend depends according to the tenure and the company but it usually starts from Rs. 24000/- and goes up to Rs. 1,20,000/-.

The college provides us good opportunities to be part of MNC and the placement for CSE students for our batch was 100%. The college placement committee is very professional and helpful full they not only provide us with the list of companies available for placement but also make sure that each and every participating student is placed. Amazon and Microsoft remained the top recruiter for our batch. The highest package for our batch was around 40 LPA and the average package was around 13.12 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, American Express, Oracle, Sabre Corporation, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, etc visited our campus during the placement drive of campus.

The college provides scholarships under the various scholarship program, scholarships are available on a merit basis and for SC/ST/PWD. You can also avail education loan and the college admission staff will help you out in the loan process. The college seniors are friendly and the college provides a good environment for studies and project work. The college organizes a number of fests like Utkansh are the cultural fest of the college and Techniti is the technical fest of the college. The college infrastructure is well maintained and the classrooms are big and spacious enough to accommodate around 50 to 60 students at a time. The college library is full of books from international authors and international research journals. The college also promotes extracurricular activities like dance, music competition, quiz and debate competetions.

The hostel rooms are big and the hostel room has 1 bed, 1 almirah and 1 study table for each student, and 1 LAN cable for internet connectivity. The rooms are cleaned regularly and the hostel is well maintained. The rooms are available on sharing and single occupancy. The mess food of the college is good and we are also served special food during the festive season. The hostel also celebrates the festivals like Holi, Diwali, and New Year Eve. The hostel wardens and staff are very cooperative and friendly.24 hours high-speed WiFi connectivity is also available.

The faculty of the college are very experienced and all the faculty of the CSE program are of Ph.D. level. The college faculty always motivate us to take part in the extracurricular activity as they believe that overall personality is very important to be successful in life as well as in the corporate world.
