Remarks
I actually got Admission to B.Sc Life Sciences at Sri Venkateswara College in the Third Cutoff. They required the aggregate of a total of 4 Subjects, ie; Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. The Cutoff for this Course ranged from around 86%-95% in 2020. They charged a small amount; 250 rs as the application fee. If you're looking forward to getting admission in the same course and the same college then you just simply have to go to DU UG official website and register around the months Jul-aug because that's when the forms are usually out ever since the Pandemic. I actually didn't get any reservation benefits as I was in the General quota. Neither did I get an EWS quota but I remember there was a good amount of seats reserved for SC, ST, OBC and EWS quota. I would like to say that there's a slight need to improve the servers for a better experience while the admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Life Sciences because I always wanted to study different and random subjects in the College and not just study one subject as in hons courses. It may not seem like an appropriate reason but it actually is, at least for me. Faculty: Student Ratio in our College is Around 1:20. Almost All the faculty members are highly qualified and experienced and the teaching method which is online sinced my admission, is just average because i dont think many Teachers are still familiar and expert with the online teaching methods. The duration of the first 3 semesters were 4 months each and ultimately they conducted the exams in every 4 months and it was really easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like HCL, Gokrazee Innovations, Pub Crawlers Delhi and etc have provided many good internship opportunities to the students including mainly digital skills like graphic design, content creation and digital marketing etc. stipend ranging from an average of 8k-15k rs/month.
Placement Experience
There sure are placement cells and many internship opportunities but these are not completely functional at the college due to the lockdown. I personally didn't get any placements neither did my fellow batchmates. but many of us are doing work from home through the internships provided by the Placement Cell of SVC.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure of this course is around 14000 per annum. The fees haven't hiked ever since I got admission. There is a certain opportunity of scholarship and is mainly for SC, ST, OBC and EWS quota in which the college refunds 50-100% of the annual fee. One of my friends got that scholarship in the first year and it was quickly approved with less documentation. I personally didn't get any financial assistance from college but there sure are many internship opportunities.
Campus Life
I will answer honestly what I personally experienced so I actually took admission in 2020 and the college hasn't opened even once so I never had the chance to live and enjoy the social life, the campus life at college. But I know the name of the annual fest and that's NEXUS.
