Remarks
The college takes an entrance examination. The notification, form fill-up, payment of filling the admission form, and issuing of admit card, everything takes place online. One of the best things about this college is its clear, swift, and time management. You won't find any difficulties throughout the process. Just keep checking the website. I did not avail any reservation, so I lack much information in that regard. However, one thing to note here is that being a minority institution, Patna Women's College has some portion of seats reserved for Christian students. The only complaint student has about the college is its huge tuition fee. The college enjoys autonomous status and thus is free in deciding its affairs.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is very punctual, unlike many other colleges in Patna. The faculty members are well qualified. Students can freely approach their teachers outside the classrooms to get their doubts cleared. Class strength varies. There were around 70 students in my class. However, in many departments like History Or in BCom, etc, the number of students was a lot. Exams are conducted timely. Teachers ensure to complete the syllabus on time and the whole examination process is clean and clear.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college fees are very high. As a student of BA, I paid around 30, 000/- annually. In 2018, when I took admission there, the fees for BCom were around 80,000. Vocational courses cost the maximum for obvious reasons. There are some scholarships available for students belonging to financially weak families.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty good, I would say. A lot of functions and competitions are organized every year. The year generally begins with a Republic day programme, followed by Holi Milan, Patriotic song competition, Independence day programme, Carol singing competition, Christmas celebration, annual sports functions, etc. A lot of programmes and competitions keep taking place, every now and then. During the second year of my undergraduate programme, two new societies were set up. Tark society for debate and a drama society. Also, being a part of NSS, I got a lot of opportunities to participate in a plethora of activities held across Patna. All in all, the campus life is quite good.
