Remarks
To opt for B.Sc. (Hons) Mathematics in Dyal Singh College, Mathematics subject is compulsory in class 12. Students need to apply to the Delhi University portal. Earlier the University used to release cut-offs based on class 12 percentage but now there will be an entrance examination. Seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and other special categories. Students just need to apply to a particular college after the release of merit and after payment of fees, the admission is complete.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose B.Sc. (Hons) Mathematics because I find maths really challenging and interesting. The faculties are really experienced and have a great knowledge of their respective subjects. The curriculum is based on the latest syllabus issued by the University of Delhi. The faculty:student ratio is fine. Most of the faculties are Ph.D. or Masters. Students can easily reach the faculties to ask their doubts.
Internships Opportunities
The Placement cell of college also provides a lot of internship opportunities to their students and gain valuable experience from internships. Students can do internships along with their studies. Students also get certificates and stipend for doing the internships.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements in the final year of their course. A lot of companies visit the college every year and students get a decent package. Students can easily apply for the placements and then appear for the interview. The average package for B.Sc. (Hons) Mathematics is around 4 lacs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are really low as compared to other colleges. The fee for my course was around 15K. There are no extra charges. One can easily avail of world-class degrees and educational facilities at a very low cost. The university provides a lot of scholarships to their students every year.
Campus Life
College life is really good. There are a lot of societies in the college. The societies organize a lot of competitions and programs. There are a lot of societies related to dance, music, debate, photography, and much more. Students get a lot of exposure to engaging in co-curricular activities. The infrastructure of the college is also very decent and the campus is full of greenery.
